Hey, guys.
I have subframe connectors and US Car Tool torque boxes ready to go in.

Can anyone recommend a welder in or around CT? I'm in the Northern CT/Southern MA area.

Thanks!
Mike

Hey Mike, any good auto body repair shop should be able to do this.

Food for thought though, before welding these into place, you should put the car on a frame machine to make sure the unibody is square AND set the ride height. Otherwise, you're headed for a lot of troubles. Round's Collision in North Scituate RI isn't too far from Danielson/Putnam - the owner (Paul) is a stand-up guy and a car nut. 401-934-1730 < give him a ring

Thanks!
That's good advice about making sure the body is straight. How often do folks find their cars to be bent or out of square? Mine had superficial damage to one fender (which was replaced 20 years ago) but no signs of accidents otherwise. I really hope that nothing bad turns up!

Cheap insurance. An old car doesn't need to have been in an accident to be out of spec. Just my advice... I spent many years in the auto body trade...

I've done them 8-10 times. Like said - the suspension needs to be set up, I add weight and 1/2 tank of fuel, and keep the weight on the wheels. It's only a problem if you jack the car one side or end at a time and try to weld them in.

Do you do this for hire?

Yes, but it depends on the circumstances. PM me and we can talk.

My shop is located in Old Saybrook CT and we can install sub-frame connectors we have an extensive knowledge of mopars. Look us up on Facebook at Auto Service of Old Saybrook

Mike, I'm a little late to the show, but if you need any welding done, I'm located in Sterling, CT. Done plenty of welding on my scamp (and for a living) and would be happy to help.

Thanks!
I’m good for now but I’ll be looking at bucket seat floor supports soon...have you done those before?

Cool. I'll be in touch about this.

Seats are always a very personal taste kind of thing but what did you pick out for the Scamp?
I want to keep mine as period correct looking as possible...possibly 1970s Porsche seats. Having them re-covered in fresh vinyl might price me out but that's the vibe that I'm going for.

Found a pair of e body buckets for my scamp. Theyre rough but I'm up for it
