Awesome 1987 Dodge Daytona video

Yep pretty easy and cheap. Bigger diameter exhaust, Walker dynomax muffler, an accufab Buick GN adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Siemens Deka plus 20 injectors, hog out intake manifold for a larger Chrysler imperial 3.8L Holley throttle body. Autometer EGT, Air Fuel ratio, and boost pressure gages, a vacuum bleed for the wastegate to increase boost, a 1st gen DSM BOV off an eagle talon, and the biggie to make it all happen above 15 lbs of boost. A 4.7V zener diode soldered in to blind the map sensor so the computer never sees above 15 psi and wont go into over boost shutdown.

My first shelby Z I was able to get it up to 22 psi and have it pull hard like a V8. Had an 87 Tl lebaron coupe I hopped up too. Still got that one sitting beside the house. Needs a head gasket. You need the A/F gage and EGT to monitor boost pressure. As you raise boost, it leans out, so you have to add more fuel pressure with the adjustable regulator to enriched it back up, otherwise the pistons wont live very long.

The BOV helps maintain boost bootstrapping when you let off the throttle to shift. I used to love winding it out, and shifting. Under hard throttle you would get a loud Shuuuuush out of the BOV between gears as the turbo unloads pressure between gears.

My current 88 Z, I built a killer engine that has a fully forged and balanced bottom end. Steel O ringed block, ARP head studs, with 2.5L Dakota roller cam, turbonetics t3t4 hybrid turbo, plus the usual ported head, port matched intake, exhaust, bigger throttle body and other tricks as my last car. Just lost interest in putting it together for now. Heres pix of my 300hp 2.2 turbo ll. Pickled with mercury marine pickling oil. Been sitting prob 10 years since I assembled it. I uncapped compressor for pix. Engine has been sitting under a bedsheet. Still has a lot of dust on it though.

I custom made the 2 engine dolleys that allow you to store an engine with the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate intact. These will store a 2.2 or an 89 up 2.5 balance shaft engine.
