I once had all the lenses and bezels stolen off my 66 Falcon and it was a real downer.
After that I started using stainless allen head machine screws from the local hardware store.
It keeps some jerk thinking a phillips screwdriver is all he needs for easily taking them off.
Kinda complicates matters a bit more.:D

put a dab of aluminum / silver silicone in the Allen head. Razor blade smooth when dry. Makes it even more difficult to get Allen head wrench inserted.
(40 + years of dirt track racing..... ask me how l know........)

Wow that really sucks I can't imagine steeling anything from anyone.
Looks like were all gonna have to but an electric charge on our cars to shock the **** out of someone that touches it. I'm always concerned that some one will run a key down the side of mine or just take it. A wire from the coil to the drivers seat will stop someone from driving my car but if I toast someone real good I might get in trouble and sewed. The good old days of someone taking your horse they would be at the end of a rope or shot.

Ya, you gotta be real careful, a lot of states frown when they see a Boobie Trap. Its really a shame though, we should be able to defend our property be any means, the crooks and general a-holes have more rights than us honest folks.

For sure Jeff that's why I live in North Dakota it's not so bad "yet" here.

A few years back we had multiple break in's all over here, they got me twice. I started pounding 20 penny nails through 2x6's and then grinding the points into barbs, I was going to bury them under all the windows, man just think going out side and seeing some Moron thief stuck to the ground! Than my brother in law the cop came over and politely told me that I would be in waaaaay more trouble than the thief. It just isn't right.

My 68 more door daily driver is such a beater I'm too worried about it. One of my tail light bezel/lenses has 2 screws and gorilla tape holding it on. Rust holes, dents, cracks, gouges, scrapes are abundant. I rarely take the keys out, I don't think the drivers door even locks right now. Its a pretty low crime area and I live on a gravel road. I do get lots of "nice car man" or whatever, I just smile. Lots of old guys trying to guess the year, its a lot of fun.

Torx tamper proof fasteners are nice, too.

Sad to think a theft has more rights. Glad my life is on the down hill side I don't want to be around when you go to a foot ball game and if you tackle an opponent you get thrown in jail.

I'm on that down hill run to, I don't take any **** from anyone anymore! In my neighborhood I'm known as the crazy cracker with the hot rod! gotta love it.

and probably the best guy in the neighborhood.

In the day had a Jeep CJ5. Put a decent stereo in it, knew someone would take a crack at it. I crossed 1”x1/8” steel under it, sharpened all the edges. Figured they’d go in at night, see the supports, grab them quick and yank. More than once I found blood on the floor mats. Looking back surprised someone didn’t then go postal on my dash

I don't know about being the best guy in the neighborhood, but I'm fair and try to get along with everyone. This kid, I don't know where he lived but he used to show up almost every time I was working on my car, he was real interested and really wanted to learn, he came around for a couple of years and than disappeared, don't know what happened to him, I miss that kid. The first time I gave him a ride all you could was a smile, cool little kid.

Got some young ones around here that stop in now and then to see how I'm doing on restoring my car and give them a ride in my old truck they would never take anything from me and thank God some kids still have some moral values.

They like riding in the back.

My dads friend in college put razor blades under his skirts on his 58 Impala so they wouldn't get stolen...again. Someone's mom came after him saying his car cut his 15 year old sons hands. Yeah, no ****! What were his hands doing under there, eh? Looking for his baseball?

The thing that worries me is some thieves might get pissed if they can't get what they want and take it out on the whole car. Getting keyed is my worst fear, my car has a good paint job but who ever did the body work underneath, well not so good, and a paint job and body work is one thing I really can't afford. I'm on disability and the Dart is my driver, I don't drive a lot, but when I do it's in my Dart.

I did that around the radio on my 68 after the first time the system was stolen out of it. Found blood in it about a month later but the radio was still there.
