I have two single groove fan pulleys with small differences. My motor is 69 340. One pulley has grove that is wider at the bottom and has a bevel around the rear lip, while the other has a narrow, deeper bottom on the groove and no bevel on the rear lip. Can anyone say if one is better or correct? And ah yes, I'm talking about p u l l e y s ;)

Assuming the two are dimensionally the same I would use the one in the best shape

If you can , measure each one at the bottom of the groove ( you'll need outside calipers for this ). If there is any difference , Mopar used what was called "deep groove pulleys" on their muscle cars to prevent belts from coming off at high rpm . I'm not so sure it wasn't a sales gimmick .

Now that you mention it, it looks like the one on the right is wider, you can see it at the bottom of the groove so the belt would ride lower in the pulley.

I've heard that and was hoping someone on here could back that up.
I used the one that looks deeper.
Thanks
