I know that I'm asking for a lot, but what's the best way to convert my 1973 Scamp from Drum to Disc?

I want to retain the "Small Bolt Pattern", and narrow steel wheels.

(The Ram Man and Scarebird have nothing for this conversion.)

Thanks,
Jay

Scarebird has a kit for a 1972. I wonder if I should convert the to 1972 spindles and lower ball joints. I believe the a-arms are the same.

Looking at the Scarebird website, he doesn't list any front kits past 1972.
Ahhh. I'm suprised but after 72 there was a lot of factory disc brake cars. Probably not enough sales to justify.

Mike I thought that was the 13" rims that was the deal breaker? Might to show pics of what you have

Ya I think it is (13" wheels won't clear the calipers) I don't know about the narrow steel wheels though.

I've already used a Ram Man conversion on my 1972 Duster...small bolt pattern Rallye wheels. I tried the stock 1973 Scamp "narrow" wheels, and they did NOT come close to fitting over the caliper.

Supposedly the Scarebird kit for 1972 will work for narrow 14" SBP wheels.
So, maybe I should convert to 1972 parts and the Scarebird kit for '72.

Who sells a KH kit for 1973 suspension parts....as they are quite different from a 1972 and older?

Just put BBJ UCAs on it, M body spindles, and brakes and go big bolt pattern. More rim choices larger 1/2" lug studs. The 73 up A body 10.8" rotor PN is also used on FMJ body cars and goes all the way up to 1989. Ditto for wheel bearings. Dust seals, tin dust shields, brake pads and hardware kits. Parts are cheaper and more plentiful.
