Would someone please share a picture of their Dart/Valiant lower back seat with me?

I have a newly purchased 1964 Dart convertible, but the back seat bottom appears to be about an inch away from the hooks in the floor. When I reach in between the seat back and bottom, I can feel that the seat bottom is hitting the vertical supports for the seat back on either side.

I also noticed that the top of the seat back doesn't have the hooks on it to grab the bar that goes across for the convertible well. I don't have a well liner, so I can see the back of the seat clearly.

My guess is that I may have a coupe back seat instead of the correct ones. Just curious what modifications I may need to make to get this setup to fit the car and be safe for my kids. It's either that, or I may need to push down on the top of the seat as it contacts that lower connection point to make sure it goes under there (second picture).

not sure about the valiant setup but on a dart convertible the coupe, hardtop and 4 door seat back and bottom is too wide to fit between the side panels. I've got the wife's 66 dart covered outside and can take some pic's tomorrow. Mine (66 convertible) has been altered to use 96 Sebring convertible front and rear seats since I bought the car and it didn't have a rear seat with it.
the seat back is 3.5 inches taller and will require a new boot to be designed.

I did have to peel the sides back a bit and shave 1/2" on both sides from the armrest pads to the top so the panels would let the top up and down correctly.

fronts used 1 outboard hole in the front but I had to use brackets to the other 3 mounting points.

here they are mounted in and checked. next on the list was bracing plates on the 6 mounting points that didnt hit the original supports.

this was how I added the "non tunnel seat to my "tunnel" seat. worked good since I could hide the white plastic mounts scavenged from the sebring. plus it gives me an extra 5 inches of space to mount speakers in.

I have a 64 Val convertible but I can't remember if I ever had the back seat out. I probably did as it's always amusing to see what treasures are under there after 50 years.

If the bottom latches like a typical A body, I'd say try again. Especially if it seems to be the correct width and fabric! It takes some muscle as the frame needs to flex a little to engage the hooks. An inch actually sounds about right.

The seat frame is the right width, but it seems like it's too deep.

I had the seat out last night putting some rear seat belts in for the kids. I still couldn't get the seat all the way back far enough to get it to latch on those hooks welded to the floor pan. I even tried a nailbar to try and guide the seat under the brackets that the seat back bolts to, but I didn't want to rip the vinyl by shoving it under those brackets if I don't have to.

I have to lift and wiggle Up and down (not me, the seat)while pushing in for all I can the heck out of my original Valiant convertible. It's miserable fighting that thing back in but it does go.
