Prayers For a Friend

-
Motorcycle wrecks SUCK.

Best wishes.

Ashley, his daughter gave me another update this morning. They backed off one of his sedation drugs to better see how he is doing. When she got there this morning about 6, they had him sat up taking chest X rays. She said he was more awake and answered questions nodding and shaking his head and squeezed her hand. I consider this progress! He ended up having his back broken in three places, but they have his back immobilized. By the grace of God, he has no spinal injury.

Has she had 'the talk' to him about giving up riding motorcycles yet, or is she waiting until he's better able to speak????

I just saw this. Prayers sent. God is supernaturally already at work in this situation.

Not yet. He caint talk anyway because he is still intubated. He has probably already "made that decision" as he's far from a dumbass. But "we'll see". LOL

That's good news! That he's conscious and communicating is a very good sign!

I caint wait for him to get the tube out. He's got quite the colorful vocabulary.

Billy got his breathing tube out and is making progress. He tried to talk but his vocal chords are kinda sore from the tube. At least he is awake and alert. Surprised he didn't flip the bird. lol And no, that's not me there. That's another of his friends. I am glad he has a lot of visitors.

HOSPITAL BILLY.jpg

I know how he feels (kind of) after spending two months hospitalized on my back after a bike crash. I know he will be home eventually, with the correct survivor's attitude, which I have no doubt he is calling upon. Hope time heals all of his pains, too.

Kitty and I went to see Billy Monday. He is improving daily. He can talk but it's very low because the tube injured his vocal cords. They were supposed to be moving him to a private room today but I have not heard any more. Going to see him again either tomorrow or Friday.

Just talked to Ashley, his daughter. He is now in a private room.

Another update. It's not a good one. THey went in to give him his respiratory treatment and he was unresponsive. They had to resuscitate him. They reintubated him and took him back to ICU. On the way to ICU, he coded and was without oxygen for a long time. THey told Ashley there's going to be some side effects from that but they don't know how much. She said they are waiting on the results from a brain scan now. This ain't sounding good yall. I don't want to lose my friend, Ashley and Audra their father and them four grandbabies the coolest papa in the world.

Continued thoughts and prayers for all involved, that doesn't sound promising.

As of now, Billy is brain dead. Ashley is going to keep him in ICU a day or two so everyone can come say goodbye and then they are going to remove him from everything. I am really sad right now.

I'm so sorry to hear this, it was looking like he was going to pull out of it, still praying Rob, hoping for a miracle.

We were thinking the same. Ashley and I sorat agree that there must have been another break in his spine they didn't catch and that possibly compromised his spinal cord. They aren't miracle workers after all. Billy was beat to hell and back.
