Corroded Brake Light Socket
If that is your brake light socket, it should be a 2 wire socket for brakes, turn signal and tail lights. Brakes and turn signal operation on 1 wire through the turn signal switch; the other one (usually a black wire) is for tail lights. This is per the wiring diagram in the TSM. Shown is for the wagon but the brake/taillight wiring for the sedan/hardtop is the same.
