I did away with the whole emergency brake assembly when I had the rear narrowed and left the hole open I figured the air flow would help the brakes cool. And my car hasn't seen rain since 1989 so Im not worried about water getting in the brakes
Rain really isn't the main issue, its the small rocks that just seem to find their way thru the holes in the backing plates and into the brake drums that do the damage.
