If your "undocumented" and lack insurance or a license, they just let you go here. You gotta laugh........(they were impounding UNREGISTERED cars with no insurance and it was found to be 'unfair': Statistically biased toward a certain racial economic class, so they got sued and the county caved) I thought we were a classless society? Well, 'Classless' has a double meaning, equality and 'those who lack class'..I believe its the latter.$5000 fine up here for driving with no insurance. Have to prove coverage when plates are renewed every year.
I agree it's a scam but it's a necessity unfortunately.
Some companies up here have "forgiveness" for 1st claim(or2) if claims free for a while.
I guess it was bound to happen at some point. Not sure if it happened in my driveway or in town the night before, but it happened. Went out to out our 08 srt8 to go to church on Sunday morning and saw this horrendous scratch down the driver side of the car. A small scratch on the front fender then one the entire length of the car from the front door edge all the over the handle and to the rear bumper. Someone took a key, knife or something and scratched the entire side. Several small scratches on the lower quarter. Wasnt there the earlier day before as I washed and waxed it, went to dinner and a late night church function in town. Could have been thers after that, but it was dark so cant say. Possibly the crackheads next door. Not sure. Body shop said $2500+. Thankfully have insurance, but why do people have to be so disrespectful.
I've never made a car payment in my entire life.I drive old cars and I buy them outright.I carry only the insurance required by law in my state.Learned the hard way way back when some fool ran a red light and T boned me.his ins co wouldn't give me enough to replace the car and that told me just what a scam the entire insurance industry is.If they can find a way to weasel out of paying they will.Maybe, but if you finance a car you have no choice but to carry comp. If you don't, the finance company will and will add it to your payment.

That’s the other reason why I stay away from churches.

My feeling is that carrying anything other than liability is a scam .
I made the calculation a few years ago when we paid off the chargerNot always true...
If you car has value, you should carry collision...
My mil just got into an accident and totalled her car... It was paid off so they only had liability... Now they have to eat the damages as it was her fault...
The value of her car is $11,500 and they are now out that money and have to buy another car out of their own pocket...
I made the calculation a few years ago when we paid off the charger
I think the difference between full coverage and PLPD was 15 bucks a month...that meant I can pay the extra premium for 55 years before it would have been cheaper to outright buy a new $10k car (and that is of course going on the assumption that the car will get totalled at some point)
Exactly. I think it's a lack of parenting or consequences for their actions, violent video games or something. I was hauling hay on Sunday and pulled into a park n ride right off the freeway a few miles from home to adjust a strap. The parking lot was empty other than a couple pulled off to the side. What I noticed right away was the 8 or 10 parking spots with busted window glass everywhere in them. Its obvious that there is a lot of break in window theft happening regularly in this lot. Its beneath a card lock gas station. A coffee trailer across the street from it. So I am sure those cars sit there unattended or even looked at most days and thieves have figured that out and take advantage of it.
Yes but you will have to pay the "deductible" out of your pocket. Probably $500 or $100, no?I think it's not going to affect my insurance as its claimed on comp and not collision. At least that's my understanding of it.
On average, if you take all the people paying for insurance that they do not use, this does work out. That's how the insurance companies make money. But if you are the guy that has to shell out $30-$40K for a new car, well, it doesn't work out for you!insurance is nothing more than betting against yourself. My feeling is that carrying anything other than liability is a scam .If you calculate what you will spend over your lifetime on all that other non essential insurance like collision and such as opposed to what it will cost you to just pay for things when they get screwed up you are probably spending way more on insurance than cost of repair

we have no fault in NY .What about Medical Liability in case it's your fault..Not sure how that works.
There is a complete and total lack of consequences for one's actions today. The usual excuses start with "Oh he was drunk or high" "Poor little Johnny had a bad home life", blah blah blah. It's a joke what the courts and the emasculated laws can do today. Useless Libtards in government, blame everyone and everything but the individual responsible for the crime. It all goes back to a lack of fear and respect of God, IMO. Some of yall may laugh at that but it's the truth.

While I'm not religious Myself, I have no clue how You connected the two events, care to expand?
I don't understand any of it either. I'm 57 years old and when I was young., you didn't dare give an elder the evil eye.I don't understand it. It seems at some point in time, a generation suddenly got this huge chip on their shoulder. Lots of people will fight or commit violent acts at the drop of a hat. All it takes sometimes is the wrong look at someone and game's on. I just don't get it. When I was young, a fight was always the last resort.....but I was ready if one happened. We always did everything we could do to avoid that kind of thing. And vandalizing someone's property? That was the last thing we had on our minds. I just don't get it. I guess I never will.
He simply tried to make a joke, and failed
The OP mentioned he first noticed the scratch while he was going to church, that's where it came from
