Second question: The bolts from the former heads are pretty much junk. Any recommendations on new bolts? There seems to be a wide variety out there.

Magnum head bolts are "stretch to yield" and really should only be used once.
OE head bolts for your swap should be just fine, and you can get them about anywhere.
