I have a 71 Dart with slant 6 and drum brakes, I have a chance to buy a disc brake set up off another 71 Dart that includes the spindles, rotors, calipers, everything except the booster claims the seller.
I am not 100% sure what the spindles should look like is there a part number or does anyone have a picture? Should these be the Kelsey Hayes 4 piston design?. Can I re-use my old lower control arms?

Thank you in advance

Yes, they should be small bolt pattern Kelsey-Hays discs on a 71. Yes, you use your upper and lower control arms. Have the calipers rebuilt by someone good. They are great brakes when in good shape. You can also get performance pads as well. The calipers bolt to the knuckle. Search the brake section and print some pictures so you can verify. Nothing like them, really.

Look in the "for sale" section of this forum for the disc brake set up that i currently have for sale.
Posted pictures in the ad will help you out, with your question.

The simple question to ask the seller is : Are they calipers single or four piston calipers. If they are single piston that means someone previously converted his car to 73-76 A Body disc brakes. If that is the case you would need the upper control arms as well or source a set in order for it to work for you. If its a 4 piston KH caliper you would be all set with what he is offering.

Thanks

Thank you great reply that will work for me.

That sale did not work out, so I am thinking that I will got with the single piston 73 later. I will convert to the large bolt pattern, my question is what all do I need to make this happen. I understand that I would have to have a set of control arms off an E body with the large ball joints? plus the spindles and calipers? Master cylinder and proportioning valve ? Oh and after reading the infamous Willwood VS factory debate from 2015 I would rather use the factory stuff as my budget is a bit limited.

Thank you in advance

No.
You get upper control arms off any 73-76 A body car.
B &
E's are too big. (wide)

Just call Doctor Diff. He has everything you need. All new stuff. Why mess with old rusty crap?

Because there are states such as, CA, NV, AZ, NM, that parts can be found that aren't pieces of crap, like in your part of the world, if the op decides to go that route.

Dr. Diff has good stuff. One stop shopping and stands behind his products. Give him a call - he'll hook you up.

If I didn't feel competent building my own brakes from available parts/resources DrDiff would be my first call, no question.
Since I do I'll save well over half the $'s that can go towards something else.
IMO it comes down to comfort level doing the task and how deep you want to dive in.

Thank you that is a good consideration
