Hey guys so I'm trying to install an ac in my duster it's a factory ac car but the previous owners cut all the vacuum tubing at the firewall, I've looked at a few different manuals and I still can't figure it out. if any of y'all know the proper vacuum setup it would be greatly appreciated.
Currently all I have is the vacuum reservoir connected to the engine but after that I have no clue.

DBLASCYK- make sure you have a factory service manual. Look at the vacuum schematic for the A/C. Understand how it works. Both the schematic and the cars a/c system and then step by step re create the lines one at a time on the car.

I like to make a color copy of the pages and after each line is recreated (from a roll of vacuum tubing from Napa) I use a hi-lighter and go over the copy (so you don’t ruin the book) after all is done. And all is colored you have what you need.

I’m sorry the previous owner cut everything, but that was then and this is now. You own the car- time to get dirty- you can do this.
Honestly- spend the money for a factory service manual - down loadable copies all the over the internet cheap. Real books on eBay too.

Good luck! You can do this.

There should only be two vacuum lines in the engine compartment for the AC.
The supply line from the intake manifold to the canister, then from the canister thru the firewall to the vacuum control.
Then from the vacuum control through the firewall to the hot water control valve in the heater hose.
You didn't state what year, but you might find the service manual you need here.

They are easy. The input vacuum comes in and "T"s. One goes to the switch on the temperature control. When all the way cold it closes (or opens do not recall) the switch and causes the coolant valve under the hood to shut off to the heater core (a vacuum hose that runs back out). Now the valve on the top of the box is AC/Heat. You can figure out the 2 that go to that by cycling between AC and Vent/Heat. On AC it should have vacuum to pull the valve to flip the door to AC on Vent/AC it releases the door to heat. Put it on defrost and find the hose that gets/looses vacuum between defrost and heat. That goes to the valve for defrost. The hose that gets/looses vacuum between Max AC and AC goes on the valve on the very right side of the box to switch between recirculate and fresh air from the plenum...

thanks guys, i got it all hooked up and i went and ordered a service manual. i do have one more question about the ac vacuum lines, there is a box connected to the temperature lever that has three vacuum hose connectors on it two of them are occupied(middle and right) but one of them is open(left) is there supposed to be a line attached to it or is it to be left open?

The third I believe is just a vent so when it changes state it does not trap vacuum in the shut of valve.
