Thinking about changing to 727 auto ... I paid big money for this trans to be built ... do you think i could get what i have in it ? or should i keep it for another project..
 
In a word, no, but! You should be able to get a good return on it considering it is custom built with the best parts you had put into it. How long you have had it, miles on it, drag runs can curve the price a little.
 
is the tail housing and side cover aluminum too? about how much less does it weigh from an iron unit?

I dunno, I sure like 4 speeds...I would keep it, that's one of those parts that once you have it, it'll be hard and expensive to get it back...
 
Brand newly professional 1st class work redone never out of the box? Sheeeeeeeeeeeeet.....

What else do you have that goes with it?
