Suggestions on what to do with my collection of old Mopar magazines? High Performance Mopar, Mopar Muscle, Mopar Action, and Mopar Collectors Guide. From 1992-2010. They don’t seem to sell much at swap meets from what I’ve seen. Thanks for the help!

I long since stopped keeping them and recycled them all. Not worth anything at swap meets and most content can be found on line these days

Only the ones from the 60s and 70s are worth anything these days...and not much.

I will never part with them. The same goes for my Hotrod collection from the 60's and 70's. The Hotrod mags were my dad's collection.

If you went and revisited some of the old mags, some of the info refutes some of the crap found on the net.

I have about 10 recent years of my favorite car mags in my shed...... WHY !!... I don't know why I don't get rid of them. I asked my motor head cousin if he wanted them, and he said he has Rod & Custom mags in his basement that he can't part with. :wtf: is wrong with us.

i hung on to mine a long time. This post is quite timely because i just recycled every last one Saturday.

I offered mine on this site a while back, and I ended up sending my Mopar Muscle collection to a member. The rest (Auto Restorer, Cars & Parts, old Hot Rod and CarCraft) will go to the recycler soon.

just sitting ….. someplace..... can't get myself to throw them away....

I think we all face that dilemma sometime in our lives about a magazine collection all gear heads face.
Back in the day i used to get, read, lots of the different publications.
Enjoyed getting them.
But the last time i moved into my current residence, i made the executive decision not to store them away any longer.
Wasn't worth the effort to box them all up, and take them with me.
I only kept Mopar Action, Hot Rod, Car Craft, as HR, & CC went back to the 50.s.

Sorted and packaged them up to sell :BangHead:. Had 'em for years. A couple boxes served well as weights to hold down the new "formed" (lol) carpet for the Barracuda.:)

So I re-packaged them in one of these...……...

...and then, in just one day, ……………. they were gone!

(I did keep all the DC and MP stuff though.)

I took mine into work and put them in the break room for people to read or take. Thinking of taking them to the DR office so guys can have magazines to read too.

I keep issues that have tech articles that are interesting. Once I get several boxes I will distribute to several doctor offices, my dentist office and several shops in my area. What better way to get potential converts.

Doctor and Dentist offices...what a great idea.Usually just Fashion and women magazines in those places. But we are usually badly outnumbered by women in those waiting rooms

Dr and dentist offices are good ideas. I have a load to get rid of. I usually ripped out the good articles threw them in a binder and recycled the rest.

I was over the Mather VA, lab, yesterday, for blood draw, for analysis, and there were National Geographic's from 2012 on the table, to be read.
Good idea on bringing them to waiting rooms.

My buddy has over 3,000 car mags dating back to 1910. Five might be worth something.

I dumped mine six months ago.

I used to (pre internet days) cut out the tech, and selected pictures of only the cars I had (have still)
E body Cuda’s & Dusters. And a few rare chick pic’s.

Everything else went to the trash.

What is cool now in them besides old history tech and pictures are the advertisements! Double check those prices! Yow!!!

Were there any naked Pygmies in the National Geographic's? That's was the most interesting thing in them back in the 60's at the school libraries....lol.

I have cut out some of the interesting tech articles from Mopar Action and have them in a binder. Otherwise most go to recycling.
I love books and magazines but with the internet (FABO) why keep them now?
Anyone remember the Auto World model car catalogs? I had a few from the 70s and I recently gave them to some car buddies.

Three issues fit in a gallon sized zip lock bag.

I have all of mine zip locked and in a file cabinet.

File cabinets are cheap when you find them at flea markets and they don't take up much space.

I have hundreds of issues from the 80's and early 90's and still regularly read them before I go to sleep. Crazy, huh?

I have had the same problem getting rid of old manuals no one even wants them cheap plus postage. Just threw a bunch away myself.
