1965 Dodge Dart 270 defroster vent color.

nope, not unless hey are willing to add 50 grams ......hmmm less than that for spray cans (typically about 1-2oz of spray able paint, that would be ) ... I'd say 5 grams of talcum powder to the paint mix before they put it into the can.

I can relate to the hour and a half drive, I'm in the sticks and it 25 minutes or more to anywhere for anything, my nearest painter supply is 1 hour away and they don't mix special colors anymore so it 80 minutes to the next one (of course it not in the same direction so 1 hour plus the 80 minutes)

Well, I am still not able to get the paint. I do have the Ditzler code from the shop manual, 13019, Chrysler code AAC39Q8 for Dark Turquoise, and the Napa auto parts store north of me who sells Valspar can not find the information behind that code to make the right color. Then we have tried the Ditzler code for some sort of regular semi gloss or whatever it is, also Dark Turquoise, 12926 I think it is, and we have searched for cross reference to other brands, but not been able to find anything, and no information about what to put in the "jar" to get the right color. Napa Autoparts have also called their headquarter, and they have no information about that paint code for 1965 Dodge Dart. So, I have no idea how to proceed from here. Other than rely on the underside of the plastic defroster vent and use that color.

Very peculiar and I have been to other places too, no information about that color is found.

Hmmm I've got this set of picture that I used as reference . No AAc but the 13019 is there and should be able to find that color and mix. BTW it's a PPG paint code according to this site,(1965 PPG Ditzler Chrysler Paint Charts and Color Codes) but you should be able to cross reference to to dupont

Well this is not the problem. The problem is that no one can find the information about how much red, green, black, white, yellow, or whatever else is going in the jar when mixing it. That information seems to be gone for that color. It is not in any computer system they have. And no one seems to have kept the old cards with that information.

Sorry to hear you’re have such problems. You’re not alone; I was helping some model car companies with getting the proper muscle car colors on their products but these companies were based in Europe. I remember Ford “grabber orange” for the ‘70 Trans Am Boss 302 models were a problem & Penske dark blue.
They had the same difficulty and were told “those are really old colors & we don’t have the info”.
I had to get some small samples mixed to use as samples to get copied.

Well, such is life. I have taken the defroster vent, which is ruined, but the back side is intact and good and held it up where the radio was. This seems to be fine since the sun has not gotten to it. Taken pictures of the defroster vent at the side of the good paint to see the difference. Now jumping in the shower, and then I will drive up there to see if we can find a different color that matches, or I will drive further up to Ukiah and see if they can match it.

Have you tried contacting customer service at dupont( Now called Axalta Coating Systems) or PPG with the color number? but truthfully you should just go to a paint/body shop that has a color scanner and let them scan the underside of the vent. (yeah I know it's a long ride finding a good one willing to do it) I have matched a teal from a 56 imperial that way (yeah it was a sucky green color on that dash) I had a couple ounces made up and then bought one of those aerosol sprayers from Amazon to paint it before I got my garage finished.

Well, I have news. I went up to Ukiah, and Tri Valley Paint have Dupont paint. And, they also have the old books with the paint chips, and there was the right one, Dark Turquoise, Flat. Not the Suede, no one can match that anymore. But, at least I will get the right color. He also took the defroster vent which is very close to the front side of the dash, where the radio and temp. control sits. And the sun has not been there either.
But, he did not find any information about how much white and black and blue and green and whatever he had to put in it. So, it would be a custom job. Will go back up on tuesday to pick it up. It is a one hour drive up there, but it is better than not getting anything.
And I am getting a whole quart, so I can paint the rest of the dash, and inside of the doors if I want to.

Thank you for your help. I wish someone was sitting on that info, would be great to have it in a database. Maybe I some day will find the info, and can have it on my website so everyone can see it.
