In a 64 dart is there a way to convert to a single key for all locks and ignition ?

I'm not against minor mods.

If not can I re wafer the door locks ?

Buy a new set of locks, doors and ignition should all match, trunk would still be different.

My local locksmith re-keyed mine. I took them out and he had them done in 15 minutes. Yes trunk key is different. I didn't think to ask if he could do it to match.

New door locks for his 64 are not quite yet made of unobtainium but if you do find new they will be expensive ($200 plus!). I’d convert the locks to the easily found 66-up locks.

I took my 66-up door locks, my 65 rear power window key assembly and my ignition key (80 J Body) to an old timey locksmith who converted the door locks and power window assembly to the ignition key

I have a lock set of door, trunk and ignition from a 1974 Dart for sale. Doors and ignition are keyed the same, and then the trunk lock with key. PM if you'd be interested.

sounds like i can match doors and ign but not the trunk unless i modify another door lock to fit back there. Is there a guide on fitting the 66 and later locks to an early car?

Why not leave the trunk key separate from the door/ignition key?

@slantsixdan has posted info on this and there are some threads concerning this mod of retrofitting the 66-later door locks to the earlier doors

because id like it to be one key for everything. looks like its doable by a locksmith buy gutting the truck lock and installing the door lock tumblers.

im more concerned about retrofitting the 66 later locks, ive done a few searches and haven't found it yet. ill keep looking

Do a search for door locks with the author SlantSixDan and a bunch will pop up
