Has anyone ever seen a car with the alarm going that was actually being accosted by a bad guy?

I see people setting them while they run into a convenience store. Nuts.

Never seen it actually happen, but they sure do set those alarms when 30 feet away and in line of sight of their car.
I think it's pretty stupid, but I like setting them off when I idle by and they come out looking around but no one is there.:D

I like the alarms that are set in the pits of the local drag strip. Every time a race car idles by, it sets off a multitude of alarms. It sounds like an ID10T error to me.

I was stationed in England from 1987 - 1990. In 1990 I was transferred to Del Rio, TX. The first weekend we went to San Antonio for shopping.

While walking from the car to the store I kept hearing these crazy sounding birds. Took me weeks to figure out it was those silly aftermarket car alarms being set!!

Went skiing once , little CJ5 sitting in the parking lot. We walked by, never got within 10' of it "Step back from the car! Protected by Viper!" over and over and over

With so many false alarms it’s actually made the public immune to really thinking if a car is actually being broken into or being stolen.

Some people would mess with the car specifically because of that.
My car has a red flashing LED inside that looks like an armed alarm.
Actually it's my keyless entry system.:D

While on the topic of noise pollution, there are the doofuses who, as they walk away from their car, hit their keyless entry button multiple times to hear their horn honk.

Note to self .. Self research replacing the factory horns on the Hemi Express with vintage Roadrunner horns.

I have. One of my own. Back in Cincinnati, my wife’s Bronco was broken into while she was at work and the alarm went off. The perp broke the passenger side window looking to steal stuff, but the alarm stopped him and he ran. Cops grabbed the guy about an hour later trying the same thing on a business up the street. Since they were in the area responding to the break in on my wife’s truck, when they heard another car alarm go off, they swooped in and nailed the guy.

Car alarms work. Responsible and careful use of them to prevent false alarms is a different discussion.

Chantix commercial... turkey sets his alarm. Top off the jeep like vehicle with surf board sticking out. Bird brain.
Ever pause and turn back to your classic, point its basic key at it and say "beep beep" just for the laugh?

My favorites are the ones that go off for the maximum amount of time before they reset- repeatedly.

....right down the street in a residential neighborhood.

Come on, go see if that's your car...and then go adjust the sensitivity.

Glad it worked for you. I'd bet you're in the minority.

No, but I've tried to open the house door with the car key fob. lol

My favorite is going slow down two different streets in town and reving up scamp to set off car alarms. It is funny also to look in the mirror and think all them flashing lights are cheering me on as I stroll down the road.
