Just picked up this 1968 Dodge Dart sedan with the /6. Literally just brought it home today. Not really sure what direction I wanna go with it yet so I'm here to soak up all the knowledge I can. The car has 36k original miles and seems to be untouched. It's been sitting for a long time so I've got my work cut out to get this thing back in road worthy condition, but it moves under it's own power so that's a plus.

I work in the Emergency Hazmat Response field, which is an on-call basis. So hopefully I'll have a good amount of time to make progress on this car. My daily driver is a 2013 Dodge Charger Pursuit with the 5.7 Hemi. Was an auto mechanic years back until the job got in the way of my passion. Hoping I can find it again with this gem.

Welcome. Drive it as is. You will really enjoy driving the /6.

No doubt about that. No intentions of an engine swap any time soon. However it's got some bugs to work out of the current /6. To start with cleaning the carb, checking the plugs and wires and taking a look at the distributor. It runs, but the minute you give it any throttle it wants to fall on it's face.

Welcome and clean more door! What part of East Tx. are you in?

Cool. Not to far from you at all. I am about 25 miles south of Zavalla. Beautiful country up that way.

Welcome from the frozen tundra by way of Oklahoma/Arkansas! Spent a thanksgiving one year, welding in your handy dandy local chicken plant right there in sunny Nacogdoches! Boss man rolled up in big black car called each of us welders over and handed us some 100s right out the window, never even got out of the car!

Welcome. Nice looked 68!! We are about 20 mi South of Livingston off 59. Stop in if ever down this way!!

I hauled home 62 Dart more door last month! Gotta love the more doors!!

Welcome from Richmond, Texas...just SW of Houston. Gimme a shout and stop in if you're ever down this way.

I always pull the gas tank, clean it, look for any hole up on top side, by a new pickup nit ( sending ) while off blow compressed air thru the line from back to front ( Yep take hose off at fuel pump!!! Ha). I bet the carb can use a good oak and kit.

Yeah it is. You're not too far. I'm out that way often for my work. All over this area really, lol.

Must be nice for that guy lol.

I've always been a fan of 4 door cars. Had a 69 Lincoln Continental for a while but life happened and I had to get rid of it.

Welcome from DFW!

Thanks, there is a guy in that area selling some 14 inch rims that I may have to head that way and pick up soon. Gotta wait for some time off tho.

Definitely gonna have to look into doing the same. The car will start up and idle, but as soon as you give it any throttle it immediately dies. I'm assuming it's fuel related. No telling what shape the inside of the fuel tank is in or how old the gas in it is. Luckily there is a gas station near me with some ethanol free 92 octane near me, so I'll be using that once I get it lined out.

Edit: I did some more digging today and found out what carb and the part number so I got the rebuild kit ordered and on the way.

Could anyone give me an idea of which Holley carb this is? From my reading there were two different Holley carbs put on this configuration. Just trying to nail down which rebuild kit I need and where to snag it from.
