Any one here know a good way to get a door open when the door latch / Striker wont let you? Cant seem to get the door open (passenger side) Door latch is rusted and seems wedged on the striker. Thanks all...

Lots of penetrating oil on the striker area and inside the door all over the mechanism. If needed, from the top by the glass, reach down with a long screw driver to release the mechanism while a friend lays on the front seat pushing the door open with his feet.

I see several moving parts and I sprayed 1/2 can of WD-40 on it. Which mechanism is that open it. Thanks Murray..

You may as well piss on it as use wd40 try some sea foam DEEP CREEP . Jmo .

In the future, you should invest in a better penetrating oil. Guys here will have many opinions on that. Looking at the mechanism from the top- try wiggling the button on the outside door handle. That should tell you which arm on the mechanism is activated and in which direction it wants to go to unlock the door. With that long screwdriver, I was hoping that you could more pressure on it to open it. With a friend applying pressure from the inside was hoping that would be enough. Also be sure that door is not in the locked position. Once again, jiggle the door lock button up and down and be sure the mechanism is unlocked. Sometimes these little things can be a *****. Good luck.

I ended up using several pry bars and plywood to protect the body when my dart latch stuck. Mind you, it was never opened for 20 years. The dog that goes over the striker bolt was seized in the latch housing. Almost cut a hole in the door. I did get trim panel off, but it still took hard prying to open it. Contrary to public belief,wd-40 isnt the worst squirrel piss out there.
