I have. One of my own. Back in Cincinnati, my wife’s Bronco was broken into while she was at work and the alarm went off. The perp broke the passenger side window looking to steal stuff, but the alarm stopped him and he ran. Cops grabbed the guy about an hour later trying the same thing on a business up the street. Since they were in the area responding to the break in on my wife’s truck, when they heard another car alarm go off, they swooped in and nailed the guy.
Car alarms work. Responsible and careful use of them to prevent false alarms is a different discussion.
