Starter

The snout on the 5.7 manual starter looks like the older "big dawg 2 ton tessies" that everybodies pulling off. Bolt pattern looks the same too. 1.7KW 2.28HP isnt too shabby either Not many of em if any have hit my local boneyards yet. That's why I went with the mini denso. Plentiful, inexpensive, durable, powerful, light weight, tiny. 1.4KW 1.87 HP about as much HP as a stock monster sized 60s-70s big block starter. Only thing that seems to go bad w the denso over time is the solenoid contactor. Easy fix, rock auto has the contactor parts for cheap.

Dartlove might actually benefit more though from using a 5.7 manual trans starter since he has a 14.1 compression V8. The 5.7 hemi starter has more HP than the dakota/ram starter. 2.28 HP vs 1.87 HP
