Dart dies when hot???

Thanks for the replies.

The gas tank as far as I know is 50yrs old! I hand't thought of it but that's probably a good place to start. Most everything except the tank was replaced about 15 yrs ago (sender/fuel lines) and the cars has been garage kept but sat without running for quite a while until the last month or so. Today before I picked it up, the shop put a half tank in and then I added a few more gallons so very well could have stirred something up. The engine bay harness, distributor and coil were replaced 15yrs ago (car has only been drive maybe 1000 miles since) and the ignition box is new.

After it cooled down (under 160 coil/ignition box/carb all cool to touch) it ran ok back to the shop even under a load. I took it real easy maybe under 2k rpm the whole way, although it was surging a little at idle it never stalled. Once at the shop rev'd up in park no problem, power brake loaded it no problem but it was still under 190.

Also about 2wks ago I had it out for a while and it ran fine. The more I think about it crap in the tank or lines sounds like it. Today when it first happened I had got on it ~5-6k rpm when it died, probably sucked something up then.
