Have to keep an eye out for it. Got to give him credit for coming up with a
cool way of bringing General Lee and the Dukes of Hazzard back to the masses

There is an old saying.
The devil hates it when you laugh at him.
Maybe that applies in this case.
The best way to deflate to a balloon full of hot air is with the pin of humor.
The only question is will I be able to buy a car with a flag for less than a king's ransom now?

Couldnt stand to watch that show when I was a kid. Crashing all those Chargers ! Made me cringe even in my teens.

I'd much rather watch this than some Christmas movie, even if it is John Schneider.

No Tom Wopat? No thanks.

I've never seen the show, only clips.
Really.
They crashed Chargers?
Who knew?
No great loss.
I hope they didn't crash any Dusters.
I always thought Daisy Duke drove a Duster.
I looked it up.
Seems not.
(She should have. Would have made for much better alliteration. But guess script wasn't a strong point.)

I remember arguments with a buddy about how they destroyed the cars on every jump, he thought they reused the cars. We were in grade school.

What most people don’t know is that this particular General Lee is a Charger body sitting on a Crown Vic chassis. They started building them that way for stunts 2 years ago because they could survive multiple jumps without being totaled.

Actually they did repair and reuse the cars as often as possible. some they couldn't some they could. They used a total of 321 chargers in various ways. The most often repaired and re-used was General Lee #1, which was the first Lee used, jumped multiple times, rolled and wrecked. they rebuilt it multiple times in the first season before lastly using it as the wrecked "Petty Race car" in a later episode.
Don’t they have a Duke Fest or something like that where u can take ur car and do stunts with it? Kim
yes, I think it's at Bristol Raceway.

I thought I remembered a total of 1500 Chargers used over the years or maybe acquired for the show. I worked for House of kolor in Minneapolis Minnesota in 80 through 82 and for some reason we had one of there show cars for a week or so, I can't remember what we did to it but it was a POS. A ratty 318, no exhaust, green interior piece of chit. But it was tied to the show. If I remember correctly the driver and truck was in the alley for the time we worked on the car, I think he f'd it up. Damn that was a long time ago.

Nope. Official total from the producers themselves is 321. Only 22 survived the show.

Walmart pulled all of the General Lee cars due to their Racist symbolism.:bs_flag:

Not sure about Florida but they sure werent common in MN .
Funny thing is my 70 SE 383 Magnum Charger was sold at Massey Brooks Dodge in FL .
That old dealership is only about an hour away from me. Of course it's closed down now. I also bought my '70 Charger SE 500 in Tampa. 1988. Ive been in Florida a long time. You used to see 2nd gen charger's, but they weren't falling off tree's either.
