Been over 14 years but today I drove my Dart again. Not far, just down the block and back. It's a long slow road back. So far wheel cylinders, master cylinder, fuel pump, tires, repainted rims, gas tank and sending unit. Had to modify the OER sending unit to get it to fit. It's not even close to the original. Does anyone know if the one from a Pickup/van will work? They look the same but I don't have any original part numbers.

Now for an oil change, lube everything and track down the new noises.

Sitting on the side of the street running.

Congrats man! Really cool little car you have.

Congrats on getting it back on the road, if only for a short distance. Baby steps. :) Waiting for it to cool off some so I can start on mine. My intent is to be driving it next spring, Good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise. :D

3..4..6 would be a delight to cruise around in. three on the tree, four door and a 6 cylinder very nice.. I am liking the patina, don't loose the charm....

I've worked on it most of the summer. Fuel to the carburetor and a new battery was all it took to get it started. Then I had to replace wheel cylinders and master cylinder so it will stop. Then I worked on getting fuel from the tank to the carburetor. All under a car port this summer with highs over 100.

Took over a month to clean and paint 4 rims.

The thing that makes this easy is that I know the car. I've had it for 32 years and I'm the second owner.

Four door, slant six, three on the tree. No power anything, but it does have a Sears AC unit. It's a sweet cruiser now. Drove it daily for years.

Current plan is to fix what needs fixing, replace what I have to, and paint it back original DD1. The rims are PPG DD1 mix, but I think they are off, so I'm taking it in so they can match the paint on the inside of the trunk lid. I want it to look like it did the day I got it. Maybe better.

Nice car, I am partial to the 1965 Dart, can you tell ? :D

How does the Sears AC Unit work ?

Bill
The AC works ok. Or at least it did. Been many years since it was on. It's a simple unit with a bracket to mount the compressor that can only be described as home made. I can tell you that it makes gas mileage go down about 3mpg but the vent temp was 34 degrees.
