I have an am/fm/cd with a remote mounted under my passenger seat and was wanting Bluetooth without replacing my head unit. I looked into sending my dash unit out to one of those companies that do the retro mod but the price and hassle of shipping it ended that. Started searching the interweb and found a 12 volt plug in FM transmitter for $12. It also has 2 outlets for USB charging AND has a voltage readout. You will need to sync it with an unused FM frequency and pair to your phone. Once you do that it will pair automatically. I use mine for Spotify (not phone calls) because radio is so lame these days. I like it so much I am using one on my motorcycle and in my 09 Ram. The only down side is that it will drain the battery so you must unplug it (cigarette lighter) when you park the car but you could always wire up a key on outlet. Check it out.

That's awesome i have been looking for one of them myself in my truck i have a aux bluetooth but in my SUV I dont have a aux plug so that will work perfectly

I use something similar to that in my daily driver and work truck.
For my dart I converted my AM radio with one of those modules from china. Also added a 2 ch amp module so it does not use any of the original electronics. Work great, original appearing AM with bluetooth for less than 30 bucks.

Do you have pix of that device? Can you get it in 4 channel?

The BT module is the small one on the left. The amp is on the right. Yeah I think you can get 4 ch ones. I mounted switches to the pushbuttons to control the BT module and used the original volume pot for on/off and volume.
Second pic is after conversion. I left the tuner mech in place and it still moves the needle. If its not powered up nobody would ever know its been messed with.
The amps come in various wattages. I didnt go too big because im running it through a vintage coustic amp and a pair of rockford fosgate 6x9. Cranks really good for what it is.

Do you have the brand and model number? Thanks

I have a couple of these, they work well. Funny thing is one has a chineese womans voice and the other is male from unknown origin :)
Same deal here, the last decent rock station changed format this year. I dont listen to radio anymore. Its all crap.

Joepole, that thing should not be draining your battery unless you rarely drive the vehicle. The electronics are probably running 3.3v so the draw is very minimal. Both of my vehicles have switched outlets so no problem on mine. Our work truck one stays on all the time, no problems with battery drain but it does get driven every day with the exception of weekends.

I agree Mike. No radio for me either. I didn't check but since there was still power on in my Plymouth, I assumed it was a drain when parked for long periods. Don't have that issue in my modern vehicles because the outlets I use are key on power. Only thing that bugs me about my classic is that I can't close the ash tray with the transmitter plugged in. I'll add a remote outlet one day.

I want to do something like that for my dart am radio but I'm not smart enough to figure it out haha. I found those bluetooth chips on ebay for pretty cheap but I cant figure out how to wire it in. There was a member on here that had a really cool method but It's was over my head too. I suck at electronics!!
