Bad day on the assembly line?

Preaching to the choir my friend! New cars suck new! I saw a 80's Dodge Mirada in the yard that had the rear wheel off. The frame section or whatever that car had for a support over the rear axle looked like it was wrapped sheet metal repaired with rivets. "Factory recall on a transmission linkage piece: "car may move when in park". Chrysler said use extreme caution when placing car (minivan) in park to keep foot on brake/set Emergency brake and turn motor off ASAP. Please return to any dealership for 2 hour part replacement immediately." Well, the part was pack ordered nationwide and there was a 4 week wait. Safety first!
'80s = "new"? At 30-39 years old they definitely fall into the "antique" category.
