I have a 318 in a duster, stock motor. Transmission is the original 3 speed. What clutch kit do you recommend. The original is the borg & beck. This will be an every day driver or weekend getter. I need something real good quality, what say you !!!

I love 318 3-speed cars. Mine still has the original clutch, mileage on it so far is around 35,000.

It's pricey in comparison to other kits, but much like torque converters, this is a get what you pay for deal in my experience. It will probably outlive you and the rest of the car. As always, just double check your bell housing alignment and get your flywheel resurfaced when you change it.

Well, there are 4 possibles.

3/8" fine RH thread & 3/8" coarse LH thread & both versions came with either the smooth ball with H pattern or the pebble grain ball with no pattern at all.

That seems to run true for A, B & E-bodies with D13.

So take a look at the threads on your shifter handle to see what the thread type is to start.

Personal conversation is a good thing if you're buying parts from each other.

LUK stock replacement. I would stick with the B&B style.

For your application, you can run any old thing,
Whatever is cheapest on RockAuto

As for me I'm kinda partial to diaphragm clutchs now. Very smooth engagement, easy to modulate; your wife can feather it in. And with flyweights they have a gentle break-away character until you rev it up and dump it.
Probably best NOT to stick a CenterForce in there tho, lol; that's a high-quality clutch alrightee... but more suited to 400 horsepower.

Good to know, I haven't used that brand before or I would recommend it. Iv'e actually had fairly good luck using Borg Warner and Zoom before, but I don't care for Zoom's throw out bearings.
