Leaf springs for dart swingers.

I about freaked when I installed mine and the shackles were going the wrong way. A 4' pry bar did the trick! LOL

Yep, that's what we did... Use a long pry bar to pry the shackle rearward while lowering the floor jack... Then they sat fine after that...

I hooked mine up to the front first. I think if I would have hooked them up to the shackle first it would have worked better.

No, it's easier to line up the front bracket first before putting the rear shackle hanger bolts in...

If you do the rear shackle bracket first, you will be fighting to line up the 4 bolts in the front bracket... It's too hard to pry the spring to line up the four bolts for the front bracket if you have the rear attached...

Put the front bracket in first, then the rear... You may have to use a pry bar to get the rear shackle bracket sitting at the proper angle so the bolts will go in... It depends on the arch of the springs as to what angle you need to set the rear shackle bracket at to get the bolts in...

You did it right by hanging the front first...

Yea they 21/2 that's about what I'm looking for I'd be happy with 2 the shackles raised it about 2 if I can get that same look with factory shackles I'd be happy

Did you measure to confirm you have A body springs? Somethins up with those things. Just seems like with the shackles it should have sat higher. Maybe it's the shot of how it was sittin on the ground. I don't know. 2 1/2 from stock seems like a lot. Sounds like SS spring territory........course if that's what you want, more power to you. I like the SS spring rake, myself.

Yea I measured them they are 20 from the center pin to the front hole and around 34 from the pin to the rear hole from the info iv gathered ot should be closer to 35 to the rear hole but I did measure in a straight line and not with the arch of the spring maybe that where that inch is.? Yes the ss ride height is what I'm after! Like the photo of the light green car that mike posted thats my goal.

Then get the SS springs, or if you don't like the bias, the XHD plus 1" will be close.

Maybe this is where I went wrong when I installed my new springs almost 20 years ago I just put the front in first then moved the shackles till it lined up with the spring and pushed a bolt thru it!! Maybe that's why my springs are flat the shackles are in the wrong direction?

oh these are 20 year old "new" springs? No wonder they're flat. They've sat in one place 20 years.

both have espo +1" springs on them.. personally i think +2" will sit way too high.

remember you want 2 1/2" higher then you are now with clapped out stock springs. their 2 1/2" springs measure 2 1/2" higher then stock ride height... its going to be stupid high with them on it.

Those both look great!!
I would think tire size would have alot to do with it too before I was running 195 75 14s now I'm gonna be running 245 60 15s that's over an inch difference in height right there so with the 1 inch springs thats about a 2 Inch gain. That's sounding pretty good to me.
