Friend built this replica down to the cigarette lighter so he could have a smoke during yellows. And yes its a cammer engine ATTACH=full]1715397616[/ATTACH]

He should look for some Armaflex, I think that's how you spell it, to replace the "Home Depot" pipe wrap on the cage.
It'll add a lot to the car's "period correctness". It's a closed cell design.
 
Here's an interesting vintage Chrysler document.
Tells the story of taking the red #71 mule Daytona, painting it like the real #88 and giving it to Nascar!!!

The real #88 will be done next spring.

I can remember watching these races as a little kid with my dad, On ABC's Wide World of Sports. You would get about 10 mins of racing, then 10 mins of figure skating and some snow skiing ect. That was back when Racing was Racing and Men was Men ! LOL
