I’m not aware they’re being reproduced but you in luck as I have 2 pretty nice covers which I don’t need for the wagon. The problem I see is they’d cost a small fortune to ship to Sweden

Hello Ulf. Regarding the masonite spare tire cover for the trunk spare well, I cut my own out of a piece of masonite. Pretty easy to make having a hole saw, a table saw, and a jig saw or band saw. Actually, I used the old one as a pattern where I used a router with a guide bearing to cut one out. I can not remember which thickness masonite I used, but it was the same thickness as the OEM. Probably OK to make one as I am guessing that the shipping on a repop would get you pretty hard. Let me know if you want a pic. Best. sgrip65

Anywa, to my latest Dartcharger on a 80 mile trip to a car show at Hallnas Railway station built in the late 1890ies. Cook station. Even the hair and barber shop from the fifties was open for this occasion. I just loved the Barracuda shelf with hair products. Three Mopars was there too. One 1965 Barracuda w273, a one owner family since day one. Cool!
So after using the front seat from my convertible this summer it was time to put them where they bolonged, in the convertible. Due to that decision my friend Johan lend me his red front seats from his 65 Dart GT. Now I have time to buy new seat covers and foam from Legendary and still be able to drive this one.
Ulf - how many pieces of trim are on each seat? I think 3 - 2 of each seat back and one one the outer bottom? Or it it 4?
It's 2 on the outside and one the inside seatback side.

Funny, searching for assembly line oil filter took me over 10 years for my other project. Yesterday a new assembly line oil filter showed up. This time it only took 3 years!
So now I guess the restoration has officially started. January was good to me. These NOS parts will go on the car in the final assembly moment. But first I will start with the open 3.23 rear end.
You have nice taste in NOS parts! That horn button is gorgeous! Hmmm! Where have I seen that speedo cable before?
I have several of those PCV valves, one of the oil filler caps, a couple of the chrome PCV caps and 1 of the hood DODGE script as well as a center of the hood emblem, all NOS of course.

Today I brought the factory tools for the rear end. It was a piece of cake to get the chunk out of the rear end. Next is some cleaning and get the rear end in the bath.
How have I missed this thread?! Im betting pretty soon you'll have most of the Dart Chargers left in the world there in Sweden. Keep up the great work friend!

Gear ratio was 3.23 which seems to be standard with the 273 HP engine. That ratio might have give it some more go!
The gear is worned out but I have an NOS gear for it with most of the bearings. Ir fell out two small rings. I can't recall seing them but of cause they belong there.
After being all over the 3.23 gear ratio I was surprised not to find a date code. Anyone know if some of the other numbers are date codes in a different way?
So finally after some work the pinion is out too. I even found some small optional bearing rollers inside. But now it's ready to get a good bath getting super clean. However some parts were found that can be reused with the new ring and pinion.

Finally the 7 1/4 rear end is back in the shop. But this time in mint condition with no oil, dust, dirt or anything else.
As you can see, all the small details is visible and it feels great to start out the restoration from this level.

I have started searching for a black vinyl top for my car. I searched hi and low but haven't found one. Even Legendary doesn't have it!!

Hi Ulf. I bought one from Dantes for my 66, but it came as a full top which covered the sail panels. Then, I researched for stock flat material. The company is out of Illinois, and the company is DLT Upholstery. What I ordered was 2.0 (Two) yards of Landau T 848 49" (49 inch)

The price I paid was $12.30 / Yard where I ordered two yards for a total amount of $34.52 including tax and shipping. This was ordered on 04/11/2018, so I imagine the price has changed. If you will recall, I have a small tutorial on my 65 Dart Charger Clone build on my thread 65 Dart Revisited II.

Hello Ulf. I forgot to mention the contact adhesive. I used a "Marine" grade contact designed to be used in wet areas. In my research, regarding the contact adhesive, it was said that standard contact adhesive, typically used for household counter top laminate application, isn't adequate for automotive vinyl top installs. Don't know if that is true since household laminate counters are used in wet areas around sinks, tubs, and etc. I will say that the shipping for the marine grade contact was more than the gallon of contact. It took a bit more than two quarts. I got the stuff out of Houston, Texas. I can get the address and phone if you would like. I am sure that, with your contacts, that the contact cement/adhesive (Marine Grade) would be available near you. As my thread states, do not use a roller when applying the vinyl top as the roller will crush the material and leave marks as the back-side of the vinyl top material has a thin padding (it will crush.) I used a damp rag to wipe down the vinyl, once placed, to insure adhesion. At least that worked for me. As well, I found it easy to use an old cheap spray gun to apply the contact. Masking is important.....all info on my thread. Best. JJ
Finally the Cragar wheels are apart. Johan, as always, did a great job. He even found out a new method leaving part of the steel plate left.
The rim will be sent to the chrome shop. Actually I will take a trip with Johan down to Borlänge leaving the rims and the bumpers. On the way back seing some Mopar buddies!

So finally one piece showed up for this restoration. An NOS fuel tank! I remember how I searched hi and low without result. But now I have one for this restoration.
Now that’s the difference between original and aftermarket ,
The aftermarket tank doesn’t have the circular depression to clear the spare well plug making it impossible to install from the top .

Finally the last bearing showed up. Now all bearings for this rear end is NOS and will be mounted within two weeks. Then the black paint and marks can be added.
Today I started tearing my car apart. Totally rust free so far. All nuts and bolts in bags. List of what I need too. I love progress!
