Picture #1. While installing the instrument cluster I noticed the spring looking contraption, it looks like it may be a grounding lug/strap,spring, does anyone know anything about this thing?

That helps secure that lug from the gauge, which also happens to be for the IVR, which is incorporated within the gas gauge.

Pic #2. I also found this under the instrument cluster area, can't remember if it was on a ledge of the lower dash or fell onto the carpet when I removed the cluster.

It’s the same clip as in your 1st post; probably from when the car was assembled.

Pic#4. I have masked and painted the other dash bezels as best I can, don't have the extra coin to send them off and have them plated and detailed like the cluster bezel.

I removed the dash speaker, it was deteriorated and serving no purpose, I did buy a 6 X 9 speaker to replace it, but it's bulkier and will have to have some spacers or something to get it to fit and clear the nonfunctional original heater controls. I think I'll follow Suregrip65's lead and send the radio down to Florida to be converted to Am/Fm, USB, and bluetooth.

Nice work! I’ve sent several radio’s down to Taymans including the one that goes in my my 47 Dodge sedan. The other A Body ones I had converted I sold since I decided to go with a touchscreen in the 65
