So a lot of you know that i have been working in my 340 to 372 stroker block and am not done yet lol. Well my buddy fron work just got ahold of some engine stuff and things from a friend i guess. I told him to let me know if its mopar stuff cause im interested. Well he messaged me today and sent me pictures, it turned out to be a 340 block and tranny, and we made a deal so this will be another future build as long as everything checks out, i was suprised to find another 340 to come my way and what looks like a 727 trans? lol ill update if everything goes good. Maybe do a 408 next unsure though

That would be a 416 at least with a 4" arm. 360 blocks make 408's. Either way you need to get some lottery tickets.
I know and whats nice is the engine is a forged crank big valve j head ill post pictures soon

You have the VIN, ID numbers off the 340 block? Some are looking for lost engines from their cars.

No i dont not yet but will post vins once i get it hope everything been good moneys tight so got to work it carefully

If i may ask whats your 372 combo? Im at the top end build of mine super eager to try it!
Mark, mines a pump gas streeter. Ross flat top pistons, True 10.5 to 1. Hughes 540 lift hydraulic, Edelbrock heads with a LD 340 intake topped with a 750 DP. TTI headers with full 2 1/2 exhaust. I run a 3800 convertor in a 904 with 3.55's. Its in a 68 Dart with AC so no attempts have been made to lighten the car. You will definitely need drag radials to hook it up. I can do a rolling burnout well into second on street tires., and the torque will really pull you out of a corner. Its fun!

Update and will post vin soon

Still havent had chance to dive into it yet. But is the a727 or intake worth anything? I was told to stick with my a904. They are big valve j heads as well so soon im going to have to start selling stuff cause got too much lol i have 3 pairs of j heads now lol

.040 doesn't bother me. To get 10.5:1 those Pistons need to be between .040-.050 out of the block.
Yeah but .040 over hope it will go for another maybe .020 with no issues cause i wanted to make this a 416 build for next year or something unsure though but pistons are scrap look like they been hitting the valves

Wonder if the intake and 727 worth some money? I also dont need the j heads

It'll likely stand another .060" Quit whinin. 340s are usually pretty thick. lol

Don't scrap the pistons yet. Show us some picrures.
Test the block it should go .060 safely.

I tell you what I'd love to see. I wanna see somebody do a stock stroke 340, pump gas motor with W2s on it. Sling that over in a 70 Dart with a stout 904 3800 converter and 4.30s and there wouldn't be much of nuthin on the street that could handle it.

Yeah im going to disassemble it tomorow and look at what ill be working with when i start it. I have thought about doing a stock 340 since i already am building a 372 but we will see now i have a 904 tranny and a 727 so i got options. Unsure what torque converter that motor came with but it did have a 727. All engine stands in use so i think i need to take my 318 off one since i haven't touched that motor since i got the first 340 lol

Don't count those pistons out. Those old school TRW's can take a beating.

I may be selling my 4 inch 340 based Eagle crank and Eagle H beem rods this Winter that I’ve had in my Duster for the last 4 years.

I was going to do it, but I didn't want to make that much power.

Now I'm going to do a 3.79 stroke W2 deal. It will probably make enough power to knock the paint off the quarter panels, start cracking the bracing behind the back seat and other crap like that.

BTDT.
