Stop in for a cup of coffee

Kind of a messed up story. I guy I purchase NOS stuff from did a 23 and Me DNA test, pretty cool right! A few months later gets summoned to court for 18 years of child support for a kid he had no idea about. They contact the other members that are a match!

Or as George Carlin said, "I was gonna pull out, but the phone rang and it startled me"...

That's why you make them breakfast in the morning and put a plan B pill in....

Morning. Last nice day before a week of rain.
Will try to get cover on tarp shed.

Happy Monday wishes to everyone. I guess the quest to start accumulating 340 parts for the Demon has begun. I picked up a set of J heads last night and am supposed to be getting a 1971 340 block tomorrow. If nothing else, for a while i can mock up an empty 340 with the 6 pack intake and such on it to have next to the car in the shop. Couple questions: if it isn't matching #'s, is there any reason to not go out to 372 or 416ci? Also, what color would the 1971 340 for the Demon be.....corporate blue or orange?

Thanks Ray,

4: After April 1971 340 4-bbl engines were painted blue. This would be right for mine... My order form from Norm's to Chrysler is dated 6/1/1971

Or give your DNA profile to the FBI to put in their database.... :icon_fU:

There's always a catch... View attachment 1715398019

I only give my DNA to willing female recipients.... :p
I have a feeling there’s gonna be a court case come out on that one. Obtaining DNA given to a company that then sells that to law enforcement which then compiled a data base and solves cold cases has got to be a violation of the 4th amendment.

Most paint supply stores can mix it up for you.
Yeah, problem is, there’s only one within driving distance, and they have a minimum order for custom mixed paints. I had them quote me, 80 bucks for aerosol can and the minimum order was 4 cans.

Get a quart and spray it goes way further also. I am sure some one on line will do it for you.

I am a bit shocked tonight, maybe heavily shocked. This is a little personal, but still, it is what it is. You guys know I am messing with this ancestry thing, and I am adopted and does not know too much about my biological side. So, I am building 2 trees, my biological tree, and my adoptive. The shocking thing is that my sixth great grandmother on my adoptive side is the same as my seventh great grandmother on my biological side. It is a very peculiar feeling, in the sense that when you are adopted you get to love your parents as much as a child love his/her biological mom and dad. No difference there. But, still, when you know you are adopted, you also know that there are no blood relation. Most likely nothing. Well, I use to joke about it, that we are all related when we go back to Adam and Eve. And that is pretty much the personal feeling I have had about the whole thing. It was so far back if it was anything, that it was nothing to think about. Now I have all the names in between, and everything. And suddenly I am biological related to my adoptive mother.
Shocking to say the least.

Bill
Not that surprising if families came from same area. Especially if small towns, farming communities etc. I didn't find any 'same person' on both sides of my tree, but saw a few families on Dads side that had multiple marriages. Brothers and sisters of 2 families living near each other. Large family farms were passed down for generations. They probably interacted with very few other people. It would be easy enough for that to happen after 5-6 generations.

Hey! Its Monday!
Good Morning
Waiting for FedEx to bring back the TIPM for the Journey. I paid $62 for it to take a little vacation and tour around the country. LOL Just hoping the time disconnected resets the processor and solves the horn issue so I don't need to get a replacement.

Welcome to the Autumnal Equinox  You have 12 hours of daylight to enjoy today. Thursday is actually the equinox, but the calendar and greeting card people need something consistent for their products. After today every 13 days we lose an hour of daylight.

Good morning all. For anyone to get my DNA, it will require a court order....No need to open that can of worms,,,IMO

I hit the genealogy research pretty good years ago. I have my tree online somewhere. LOL. I think I put most of it on Ancestry. Thing about these online trees is they are someone elses work. And they are often not 100%. Too many old trees were done with very limited info. People were content to make things connect because there was a lack of evidence to say otherwise. It can be very difficult to 'break' these ties that others have accepted as facts. Even worse, are 'paid researchers' especially from 30-40 years ago that would put your family history together for you. Many of these would draw FALSE lines back to important historical figures just to sell books.

meh, we did ours the old fashion way. including travelling to Germany to finish it. We've got everything on both sides dating back to the 1600s (Dad's side), 1780s(Mom's side), Germans kept meticulous records man.
