Double VIN stamping on M Code 440 Engine Block

I can’t see someone stamping single letters and numbers by hand with hammer getting all them perfectly the same in each row. 69 also said it looks machine stamped. Did that ever happen on a block other than this once? Kim

They use a holder like these. It would be hard to get all the letters and numbers to stamp evenly. Hit it twice to get them all. Remember, the engine was probably moving down the assembly line. (moving)
