And the red A body Dart or Valiant couple rows behind the white Valiant, then the red A body wagon kind over on the right......I'm sure there's more.

@RustyRatRod

This is the actual nearest k Mart to me.

You have to go in the front door, bang a left, go through the clothes section and the restaurant was in the corner.

I miss the coin operated rides in the front. Even though I was too old, because my size, I still had fun with those way past the time of people my age. LOL

I always loved those too. Never got to ride one because Daddy was too cheap.

Never wanted to ride those, didn`t interest me , was driving a B farmall at 6 yrs. old , pulling a one moldboard plow for hrs on end . Dad was on a bigger one , usually behind me .

I still have and use a set of K Mart branded 3/4 inch sockets that I bought back in the late 70’s. The ratchet lasted years, but finally stopped working and I replaced it. Bought a K Mart brand because I could not afford a set of Sears Craftsman sockets. Had a K Mart brand floor jack at one time but it is long gone.
Most times when I walk into a HF store I think and remembered how the tool section at K Mart and Sears were like this, lots of tools, people and activity and they let it all get away.

It's so awful it makes you sad doesn't it? It does me.

The K Mart I went to from age about 4 1975-ish until I moved out of OH in 1988, had a green 1969 N96 4 speed Super Bee sitting across the street almost that entire time.

I've told the story before, I knocked on that door for years trying to ask if it was for sale, only got someone to answer once, said it wasn't, then 2 months later a sign appeared (even though I had given my contact info and professed my love for the car, etc), still couldn't get an answer at the door, and then it was gone.

Here is the socket set, I replaced the ratchet with a vintage Craftsman ratchet purchased from someone here at FABO.
The sockets are engraved as
CR-VAN steel Japan,, from a time when Japan was moving from a junk part supplier to a producer of products considered to be of good quality. So we have seen many shifts in our lifetimes.

Thanks for posting !
Being a sentimental kind of person , I get sad at most of the stores that had some sort of impact and many memories made in my life !
K Mart, Sears, the Bon Marche to name a few !
The steering wheel on my 68 Dart came from JC Pennies in Everett on Colby ave .
My Dad bought it before he had a car or a license in 1964.
Jc pennies has a few stores left, but nothing like they were back in time !
The whole Sears and craftsman thing were such a huge part of my life with my, grandpa, dad , and brother !
K Mart had the best popcorn !
I will cherish all the memories, of tools, toys, popcorn and bonding with family and friends !
We live in a different time for sure !
Thanks again for sparking the memories !
