Well, I"m on my second flare up in two weeks. Doc gave me prednisone burst, Got rid of the gout, after taking the last pill, I started on the Allipurinol, 24 hours later, bang, gout is back with a vengeance. Went to work last yesterday and hobbled around on it for 8 hours.
When I got home and went to be, OMG, the worst pain yet. Got no sleep, was moaning and groaning all night. Just felt like my toe was in a vice, and every 10-15 seconds, someone would turn the screws a little tighter.
Reading about the allipurinol last night I see that one side effect is that it can cause an attack when you first start taking it. So dont know if that's the deal our not.
Got a call into the doc to see what the heck i'm suppose to do about it.
