When you know you are not dealing with a mopar person

-
I work with a guy everytime we start talking about cars he always tells us about his 1969 440 hemi duster!! I swear I'm not making it up!! He is a pathological liar I can't roll my eyes far enough in the back of my head to justify the stupidity that comes out of his mouth sometimes!

Yup. I know the type. No matter how much proof you show him, he'll never back down. He'll insist it was a one of one never made again factory experimental blah blah blah........lol

and you all say B body owners have attitude, Kudos to RRR for post 21 , don't berate - educate. Anyone who says 440 Hemi is misinformed and just needs to be educated. Mopar to ya.

The same guy had a custom hayabusa motorcycle he was showing me pic of it.....I saw the exact same pics on pinterest. Hahaha

sounds like the type that likes to throw bugs in everyone soup ... no life, if you have a 4' ladder, he has a 6'

I have coworker like that too! He starts every sentence with "I got one better than that..." lol

I was 19 years old the proud purchaser of a 69 Bee with a 413! The guy swore it was original. Needless to say, I paid way less that he was asking! LOL

Its like people who get the weather report from Facebook, just keeps getting bigger
as its passes along the BS chain of know it alls.

What so my Factory 408 6 Six Pack in a 1972 Dart isn't real? I've been duped. Yikes.

Went to a cruise in a couple years back, saw a really nice looking 68 Charger in a dark blue. It really was a beautiful car.
Guy who owned it had a really nice custom sign sitting in front of the car.
It had professional pictures of the car, owners name etc.
In the specs portion it listed the engine as a 426 Hemi.
I look at the engine, its a big block, but no Hemi. Looked to me like a 440, which is respectable.
I figured the owner either was in the process of going to a 426 or put the 440 in for some reason.
When I asked, he went on the defensive. Swearing up and down I didn't know what I was talking about and I wouldn't know a hemi if it hit me upside the head.
I just walked off and let him do him. I wasn't trying to critical, I was just wondering.
Walk over to a guy who had a Polara w/ a wedge in in it. He saw the Charger guy go nuts on me. The guy tells me that I was probably the 3rd or 4th person to say something to him about the 426. Apparently the Charger guy used to come to the cruise in with a Triumph or something. He sold that and bought the Charger, knew little about it, and gave way to much for it.
I never saw that car again. Shame too, it really was a damn nice car.

^^^^^^^^ he probably bought it from a Chevy guy that said " it still has the original 440hemi" just like the Duke Boys

Could have had a 426 Wedge swapped into it at some point and the "426" part confused the poor guy into thinking it was a Hemi.

Half feel bad for guys like that, half just want to slap them.

Every time I see a not-black Mopar with a black engine compartment, a Scamp with a Dart bumblebee stripe or a Demon/Dart Sport wearing a Duster stripe I know that I'm in the company of a non-Mopar person. Mopar people know better! :poke:

My engine compartment is Black. Lol

Depends.... if it is a resto or not, if the owner knows, or not. I’ve seen Cuda Billboards on A bodies including Dusters and a Scamp once. The Scamp owner said, “I did cause I like it.” Enough said there! His car his way and he knew it wasn’t for the car.

Busted, I got the white scamp with black engine bay and the stripe, lol lol

Kinda wondered that too.
Of course, when I asked, he was already on the defensive, so....
I figured he got his lips ripped off and finally realized it.
Honestly, the car could have stood on its own for what it was.

A agree with this. I've seen a modified Duster stripe on a Scamp and it looks damn nice.

"It's got a 4speedposi".
I used to hear this local idiot say this frequently, as if any transmission has a limited slip feature or that any differential has 4 gears in it.
************************************************************************
Another one: What rear end is in it?
"It's a Posi".
Clueless idiots ....Are they not aware of the multitude of axle types, ratios and ring gear sizes?

There is a guy that does YouTube videos. Great metal fabricator but he always refers to a lower Valance as a VAYlance. Annoying. His skills are fantastic but the wrong pronunciation of that word digs at me.

You don't want to run headers....the engine needs backpressure to run right.

440 six pack.
Way too many guys think the two are intertwined as if every 440 had 3 carburetors on it.
What engine is in it?
I have a 440.
440 six pack, huh?

Original General Lee 69 charger, I've ran across alot of people that think 69 chargers came as General Lee's.
