2020 Supra Motor

Bad ***. Would be cool to swap it in an old Corolla or Camry. Would be a stupidly cool sleeper.

Pat

wait......I need a lathe to change my spark plugs?......uh.....it still is a bad *** engine! Just like any of it. 1st time it takes you forever.....second time.....1/2 of forever......third time.....10 minutes!

Would be badass in a 64 Valiant. With a 6 speed.

NOT a toyota product.

Hard to believe they would farm out what should be their flagship performance car.

Kind of like the new Fiat 124 spyder-

NOT an FCA product.

WTF?

"only six bolts and a bracket and the whole turbo just comes off"
(not counting the entire front of the car which needs to be removed)

and can you believe that mechanical fuel pump?
it runs off a lobe on the camshaft...what will they think of next?

My wife has a 2017 durango with the V6. 50,000 miles so far without a single issue. It has the weird exhaust straight off of the head design. No manifold at all! My mom bought a new Charger last week and I'm sure it has the same exhaust.

There are a bunch of engines with high pressure pumps that run off of the cam. Chevy does it in the LT V8 engines. Ford does it on the 5.0 V8 and ecoboost engines. It's pretty reliable and not terribly expensive to replace.

I had a 2008 BMW 135i that I sold earlier this year. It was direct injected and the whole system was flawed somewhat. They are on the 12th revision on the injectors for that N54 engine. Crazy.... The pump was timing chain/gear driven like an old diesel. Those are $$$$ to replace.

.

I was being sarcastic, my 71 duster has a mechanical fuel pump, ran off a excentric on the cam
the guy made it sound like it was something new

come to think of it, I believe I had a high pressure fuel pump go bad on a mid 2000s VW once too

Just did a head gasket job on an older BMW.... I would never want to work on this engine with it still in the car!

Wow pretty impressive engine. Nice shop. Not much has changed in Hot Rodding in 50 - 55 years. Buy a new car pull it a part make it faster. Except the price.
