Getting ready to remove my steering shaft from my gearbox. Do you tap out the roll pin from the side that is recessed or do you tap out the pin from the flush side on the column so it comes out the recessed side. Hope that makes sense, thanks.

So either side is fine and won't mess anything up? You feel hitting it from recessed side and knocking it out flush side is better for reinstallation? Thanks!

Center the steering wheel- pointing straight ahead. Now knock out roll pin and pull shaft out. The advantage here is that you now have the master spline exposed and on top. Now it will be easy to re-install easily.

Lower edge of box coupling has a tiny V notch marking where the master spline is. I think this orientation puts the pin over on the engine side of the coupling. Still easy enough to drive out with the right driver.

Thank you guys came out pretty easy. I hit it with some wd40 last night. Thanks again
