Got this message while trying to post + feedback for a seller.

"The following error occurred:

Please wait 10 hour(s) before submitting new feedback for this user."

What causes this or what purpose does it serve?

You probably gave that user feedback not long ago

I left a bad feedback to a chinesium seller on ebay, for some reason it didn't reach them , they keep wanting me to revise it after returning the $ , but I cant pull anything up to revise. I keep telling them that and they keep asking the same thing over and over like they don`t understand . Im just deleting the messages now , tired of trying to tell them !

The feedback system here is confusing at best, irritating at normal, and infuriating on the long end.

I think that because I've tried to use it.....and spent several minutes trying to figure out why it generated some error. But I would never criticize the king of computers

Its not that - I just think its very simple. If I could improve it I would.

You click below the person's name on the for sale thread:

and fill in the information asked for: The URL is inputted automatically. You just have to select your the buyer/seller, if the feedback is positive, negative, etc, and your comments. I dont see what is complicated ---

The thing is you are presenting this long after something happened One of the boxes generated an error which I could not seem to resolve. It wanted more or less charactors, and when I tried to edit, it kept on giving errors. I finally backed out and started over. Might have been "short review" Is there a 10 charactor limit Hell I don't know. I don't remember. That was months ago.

I am the one who decides if something is irritating. You can say it isn't all you want to and it doesn't change my perception. I don't like Bill Gates, neither.

Of course, but I have to understand what exactly you found to be a problem in order to improve it.

I've never heard a url be entered automatically. I always had to copy n paste. "Short review " is 20 characters MAX. That needs to be increased

You need to go to the sale thread and add feedback to the sellers first post. Easy .

The short one (which other see IIRC) says too many, and then the long one (which others don't see IIRC) says not enough.

It's a bit awkward and somewhat irritating to say the least.

Especially when it doesn't tell you the limit or minimum.

If you click on "add feedback" on the the poster IN the for sale thread - it auto populates...

I can increase it -- to how many? Keeping in mind you can leave a longer review... This is the short review

The idea is this ---

Short Title: Is just a short "Good Seller" or "PITA to deal with" Kind of thing. (I just increased this to a max 50 characters)

Comment: Is suppose to be where you tell the story in more detail. (set to minimum 10 characters)

BTW -- See this stuff is specific enough to be helpful and things I can act on. Just telling me "It Sucks" doesn't help me make it better... :)

It does if you start from the sale post. For example go to the original post and click the seller then click the leave feedback and it will automatically fill the url. I have done it several times it works good. It doesnt if you do it from the PM page you have to be in the original sale post.

Agree. Only time leaving feedback is a pain for me is if buyer never posts in the original thread and just sends a pm. This is a frequent occurrence and makes leaving feedback a multiple step operation of searching for thread, copying thread url, opening buyers feedback
page and pasting url. Works fine for the patient. LOL

I'm open to suggestions as to how to make it easier. The FS thread url needs to be there so the feedback can be traced back to a sale, and if the buyer doesn't post in the FS thread I don't know how we could auto-populate the URL.

A step I have started taking personally when I sell after a pm only transaction is to copy and paste url to final pm after sale is confirmed & payment made. That way I don’t have to search for thread after it gets buried. Buyer and url are together for feedback.

I do as well. Saves lots of time looking for a particular thread.

That's a really good idea I like that!

searching can be easier by going to your profile page and looking at threads you started:
