700-800HP is range I am shooting for. Car will be caged and tied together with overdrive and mufflers for short street trips to shows (20-30mile). Certainly sounds like you're on the right track. Big cubes to keep the revs down, or forced induction would be the way to go.

You don't have to worry about octane on a big inch motor more than any another motor. It's always been said that big cube engines are detonation prone. This isn't really true. They do however require less timing. The explosion takes the same amount of time as in a small engine, but has a much longer stroke for it to occur in.
