So I've read the posts on where to find 15x7 BBP steelies with 4.5bs.

I'm at the junkyard in Vegas and I found these on a 1988 Dakota.

15in steelies seem to be 15x8 but it's hard to measure with the tire on, 5x4.5 BBP but it seems like they have 5.5bs, is this correct? Would they work on the 8 3/4 a body rear end in a dart? I would measure it all but I'm not home where my dart is .

Here's a couple more pictures.

I measured my current set up and it seems I have 14x7 Rallye's; with 245x60x14s in the rear, have about 1/2 inch to the leaf springs and +/-1in to the lip of the fenderwell, I also don't have the 8 3/4 installed yet. Nice seen some guys say they ran the 15x8 with 5.5 bs, but I think they moved the spring perch in by 3/4in?

I'm still going to keep searching for a 15x7 with 4.5bs original Mopar steelie before committing to a purchase from wheel vintiques for a pair.

The junkyard I was at only had 1 pre 1990 Dodge truck (the Dakota) and 2 pre 1990 Dodge cars. Neither of the cars had the same steelie as I'm looking for.

My 15x7 4.25 back space came off a 85 5th ave.

Talk to the wrecking yard, the might be willing to sell it to you with knowledge that you might be returning it if it doesn't fit. Don't dismount the tire that's on it. It will help you with other tire fit by knowing the dimensions to the fenders etc with this wheel.

Don't get too tight. As the body rolls, the tire goes through an arc rather than streight up and down

Im just going to hold out for some 15x7s

I was pretty sure stock 15x7 rims only had 4.25 backspace.

I don't know, I measured best I could in the sun, heat, and somewhat rushing.

I found a guy parting some old Dodge's and contacted him to see if he had some 15x7s or 15x8s and he said he thinks he only has 15x6's

I really doubt if any factory Dakota wheel is 8" wide. Especially not a 15" Plain-Jane steel wheel like that . I had a '97 with the factory 235 off-road tires & aluminum wheels, and they were only 7". Don't forget, wheel width is bead-to-bead (inside). If you are measuring at the widest point (the lip) subtract about 1".

Steel wheels are stamped size and date code, visible with no tire on the rim.

You sir are correct. I'm at measuring, I apparently like to add an extra inch.

I looked up the specs of the stock wheels 15x7 with 5x4.5 and backspacing was "H" what ever that means.

Got em! 1988 grand fury with 5 original steel wheels!

15x7 with proper back spacing.

Would these drums work for my 5x4.5 swap too?

Get the drums and backing plates compete and it will work for you.

Cley

Thanks! I actually just read about it, I'm going to go back tomorrow morning and snatch it all up as well as the proportioning valve. Then I'm going to do some inspecting of the rear axle

nice.. they should be 4.25 backspace.

Thanks and yes they are! I took 4 even though I only needed 2, but now I can run 15x7 all around and use a 15x5 as a spare. There is also 1 more 15x7 left, but I didn't want to fight taking it off with not having any tools and in my scrubs

Take the front disk setup and mastercylinder off that car.

Question- these are 10.06 Max dia rears- that's what I currently have on my dart, do I really need the whole backing plate? Can I not just take the front rotor with the studs on it which 5x4.5 bbp and use my backing plates?

I got it all! Except the rotors, spindles and stuff I didn't need.i also have been reading left and right about the backing plates and I think it's dumb Dodge used like 58 different types of backing plates for the same size drums.

Thanks for all the help everyone!
