Project Big Block 74

-
Haven't posted in quite sometime but more changes since last time. Got two new fenders on and a rocker replaced.Machine work is all done, assembly this month it will live again as a 400/470. Hopefully see the dyno before xmas.
Stealths were ported then ported some more hoping they will give me what I want. Shooting for 10.5:1 hyd roller no specs on that yet. Sniper will sit atop the rpm going to order a tanksinc Holley setup to go with that. Likely going with tti headers shumacher mounts and torque strap. Minitub done leaf springs relocated went with super stocks and sliders instead of shackles. Will be running 17s with 315 Nitto NT05s on them for now should be arriving tomorrow according to fed ex so I should be able to measure up and narrow the rear end soon. Subframe connectors almost ready to weld in just gotta trim to fit the passenger side yet. It's a slow go for me with work and family but slowly but surely shes coming back.

Nice. Make sure you have good brakes! I rebuilt everything on the Demon up front and used Schumacher headers. No issues. Cooling the motor under a closed hood is an issue on these cars. Your headers will be damn near on inner fender. Opening the hood up with a scoop and installing a good radiator with shroud are options.

The Grand Canyon didn’t happen overnight, keep working

I have a feeling my hood won't close anyways not sure what to do about the scoop I dont care for the look of most of them with the 73+ nose. Good chance it will be getting a cowl hood " sorry "

I am looking at doing something very similar on the door panels. I have a sheet of carbon fiber looking film. Did you put that over the wood grain? Any issues with adhering?
No its adhered very good over the woodgrain it's been on for over a year no bubbles no peeling. And that's with cheap Chinese Ebay vinyl.

Rear end I'm using is an 8.8 that is getting beefed up a bit so I will have discs all around.

just run a drop base air cleaner. There's guys on here with 440s that are clearing stock hoods with the drop bases. I would not recommend the cowl hood. For one, they're ugly as hell on a mopar, the lines just don't work. And 2, visibility is greatly affected, to an annoying level.

The drop base works with the rpm? I've heard they sit high and cause issues closing the hood.

drop bases Lower the height of the top of the air cleaner. The 440s definitely had issues with fitting under the hoods, the 400s and 383s with the right set up and the right air cleaners can be made to fit.

"Two Scoops" like's two scoops, I think they look good...Put the 4" hole under them for heat escape

Time to rebuild the suspension picked up some tubular ucas with heims "old stockers were seized in so bad I just cut the fuckers out...pissed me off tbh.new eccentric bolts New upper and lower ball joints steering arms inner and outer ball jts idler arm bump stops lca bushings and boxing. ordered some 1.03 bars and adjustable strut rods pitman was done already with the manual swap pretty much the only thing left is the center link I guess. Wish me luck hope I don't knock the old girls alignment too far out to get to a shop to straighten her out

A tape measure and an extra set of hands will get you close enough to safely get to any shop for an alignment.
