Evan and I went yet again yesterday to see @AbodyTim. The first time we went about a month or so ago, he was generous enough to let me have a lot of parts he was not going to use on his 1965 Valiant project. However, sadly Tim and his brother discovered there is just too much rust in the car to fix. So Tim let me know that I could come get the car and all the rest of the parts that he had left. Yesterday was the day. Boy, was it hot. The air in Evan's Dakota doesn't work, either. This included some key parts that I really needed. My plan is to give parts that I will not use, or sell those worth "a little" to the good members of this site. I plan on keeping the front suspension, brakes, rear axle, seats front and back glass and that's getting close to it for me. The car was already minus the hood, grille and front bumper, but there will be some parts left, as there are a lot of parts in the trunk. At any rate, we got everything loaded up and I actually remember to get a picture this time. Course, that's my big *** on the left and Tim on the right. Tim I cannot thank you enough.

The hell with you two, let’s see the car and the parts! :D

I will. Sun ain't up yet. lol But all yall do me a favor please. Don't ask about parts on this thread. That's not why I posted this. I only wanted to show yall what Evan and I did and what a cool guy AbodyTim is. I don't want @toolmanmike to have to clean up a thread that's not a for sale thread. If somebody might want to know if I have some just send a PM. It's gonna take me a little bit to get all the parts out of the car and sorted out.

That is the FUN part.
I love going through a car that is full of misc parts. It is like an Easter egg hunt.

Yeah, it's good to keep TMM our of your threads.... :poke: :D

Found out it was 101* where we were yesterday. Dangit. Kitty and I pushed the little car off the trailer a little while ago. I will have some pictures in a little bit.

What a difference a day makes. Watching the weather channel now. It was 101 in Macon, today - a little cooler!

Tomorrow even cooler yet. Only supposed to get into the upper 80s. Cool wave.

I'm sure as far as you are concerned, it's long overdue!

Absolutely is it. We are probably done outside for today. All we did was grab some breakfast at the Krystal and come back home and pushed the little car off the trailer. I was sweatin like a pig already. Probably just stay inside today. I will at least snap a few pictures, though.

Also notice a rarely sung plus for the A body crowd-

The cars fit in a lawn equipment trailer!

You're very welcome, Rob. Glad some of the parts will have a home on your car. :) Hard watching y'all leave with it. Really wanted to clone my original Valiant. Probably why I didn't look the car over as well as I should have when I went to buy it. I told my wife my heart out-manuevered my brain on that deal. :BangHead: All's well that ends well. Have enough parts left that I should break even or a little better on the deal if I don't decide to keep them. Never know what's around the corner.
Here's a few pics from the ad when it was for sale and one from when the previous owner bought it.

You sure the car ain’t fixable at least for a driver? Even if the frame was rusted it could be reinforced or partially replaced. I saw the car for sale and was interested in it, but really didn’t need another vehicle.
If it’s really that far gone, I would be interested in the two doors in the front of the quarter panel up to the rear wheel well to make my station wagon into a two-door sedan wagon . Might be interested in the front fenders, too. I know of a solid 4 door car that could be made into a two door. Hmmm. I wish I had more room here.

Kind of deceiving in those pics. Paint and a good filler job will hide a lot of stuff (original pic). :( Up close it looks a little worse and when you really get to looking at it, it is pretty bad. And yes, the L. front rail is toast as well as the complete floorpan, not to mention the inner and outer cowl panels. My brother came up and looked it over for me and found places I hadn't noticed. To quote him- "It would make a helluva race car. Already lightened by rust." I'm sure someone with the time and resources could fix it. My brother said we could do it but the main problem is he lives over an hour away from me. I appreciated the offer but didn't want to take away from what little spare time he has. :thankyou: If another one comes along I MIGHT be tempted but rest assured, I won't be following my heart on it. :p

I'll have to give an AMEN on what a good guy Tim is! The hood, front bumper, and front valance panel that Rob mentioned that are missing? Sitting in my garage to help fix my 65 Barracuda! Tim was kind enough to remember me mentioning in a months old post that I needed those things for my car, if he saw any in his travels. It still makes me sad that the parts had to come from his car. :( I drove down to GA, and met Tim near Atlanta Dragway last week to get them, and got the pleasure of meeting Tim and talking for a while. You can bet I will be keeping my eyes peeled for a good 65 Valiant for him to fix. Thanks again Tim. :thankyou:

Take your brother with you next time, and leave your money at home the first time you look at it. A pair of good eyes that has no skin in the game is a good thing to have.

Any of yall want to see any particular part on the car body panel wise, pm me and I will get you the best pictures I can. "I GUESS" if somebody was REAL industrious, the car could be fixed. IT has rust THROUGH in all of the floor pans, both outer and inner cowls, around the front windshield channel, bottoms of both doors (although very repairable), outside of both rear wheel houses, firewall in the curve coming down from the cowl and it needs at least one frame rail......and that's just off the top of my head.

I sorta agree though on looking out for Tim another one. His son has a 71 Charger that he "says" will be enough Mopar in his life helping his son with that, but yall all know how that is.

But we're kinda startin to skate here.......any interest in parts at all, send me a PM. I am going to actually sell precious little, because Tim gave it all to me, so I am going to give most of it to others. But there are 4 brand new 14" tires with tags still on them. Two decent driver 65 tail lights...stuff like that I will sell more than reasonable just to recoup gas money and mine and Evan's time. Yall just let me know through PMs. It was still hot as FIRE yesterday, so I didn't get any parts pictures, but they're comin I promise.

You want to know that one? Ok. Here it is. I met 70-71DartGtReg (Bruce) (RIP) on here several years ago. SUPER cool guy, only lived about 65 miles one way away from me, in Fort Valley, Georgia. We met on here and hit it off over our love of slant sixes. At that time, we had a live chat room and several of us, including Bruce and myself chatted there regularly. We became good friends and talked on the phone a bit. I drove down to meet him and see all his cool collection of stuff....parts and cars. At the time, he was sick. Had some kind of sorness in his neck and throat. Just a cold he thought he couldn't kick.

Turns out it was stage IV throat and lung cancer. Now Bruce had no family........none that was good for much. I'll just stop right there with "THAT". So, I took him to his chemo and his doctor appointments. 65 miles. One way.

So, he was getting pretty bad. We "knew" where this was gonna end up without ever talkin about it directly. One day, while he was having a rare good day, he called me up and said "hay man, all my hair has finally fallen out. I've always wanted a tattoo of a spider web on my head with a big black widow in it. I'm going to see my friend who's a tattoo artist, will you go with me and get one too, I'm buyin?" I said "hell yeah, let's do it!" Because you know........well.......you know.

So the next week, Bruce took a bad turn and passed away. It was a really sad thing. So I told Kitty that she knew I had to get that tattoo. We agreed though to go for the elbow, rather than shaving my head. lol. I put Bruce's date of birth and death in the web as a tribute.

And there's the story.

I pologize fellas. I am pretty slow with this as I am a one m an show here as Kitty is still recovering from her shoulder surgery. I got all of the parts unloaded from the car except the seats and up in front of the shop. It's still pretty hot here even this mornin, so I am kinda slowin around like a sloth. Bear with me and I will get it all sorted out and take pictures. I am going to keep several things, but several things I am going to sell really cheap or give away. I will keep yall posted.
