What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

The first photo is the back seat of my 67 Notch with the original factory seats.
The second photo is the back seats of my car after being redone to match the 72 front buckets.
The third photo is the 72 front bucket after some attention.
I will post the finished product in the "details" thread when I get the seats in.

In between rain showers, I was able to get the front differential lube changed in the '85 Ramcharger.... Yippee ... LOL

Normally I drive the red car, but since the red car looks like the second pic right now I have to drive the yellow car to get some groceries and some more two inch blue painters tape.
Tomorrow (maybe Sunday) the red car gets it's makeup done.
Don't ya know it's a rough life in the Mopar world.:D
Can't hardly wait to get my car back on the road with the paint all done, so it will be looking good for the Route 66 Drags in Kingman AZ at the end of the month.
So this is what I am doing with my car today. (and yesterday, and the day before, and tomorrow, and probably the next day):D

Looks great! Are those E body front buckets?
I did something similar in my 67 Notch and started with 73 A-Body buckets.

So I give a ch** if it has a little dust and a couple bugs, it is what it is, a friggin Volare F body slant ride!!!! How can poor people like me send a car to the body shop!!!!!!! How the heck will I ever get my interior done on my cars either, buy an industrial sewing machine and learn to do it!!???? It will get driven and never go to a car show!!!!!!

I’ve been working on my ‘31 Ford Double A truck. Finally pulled it out of the barn. Had to buy 2 tires, tubes, & liners.

And a bunch of other stuff to get it going.
Needed a new glass fuel bowl and shut off valve, fuel line, Zenith carburetor, distributor top plate with new style points, a coil, a water neck with a temp sensor boss. Damn I don’t know, about $1500 in parts..those 2 Tires were the most expensive.

I was trying like heck to enter it into the San Benito County Fair this weekend but I missed it. Couldn’t get some of the parts in time.

I tore apart the dash on my SC400 and rebuilt the LED needles to fit (had to reverse the polarity of red 94's to light on a orange needle '92 dash...so stupid!) Then I managed to kill the needle LED voltage on the temp gauge, and then managed to booger up the tach so it dragged. Found the disk that the clockspring wound up on was pushed into the base and of course that meant the disk would crack and break when I tried to wedge it off. So no more tach, no more lit temp gauge but the speedo and fuel are blazing red again! These LED's are like fossils after 25 years of heat and lighting, you take them out and they break apart like a dry leaf. The dash glass is a smoked window that makes it dark if the needles are not illuminated so it was basically an invisible needle, you had to watch for the tick marks to be covered up to know how fast you were going and this car is quiet and smooth so its very easy to speed in it.

Well, it wasn't today but I went from pic one to pic two over the weekend. (finally):D
I'll give it a couple of days or so and give it a little cut and buff.
FINALLY, the car is all covered in the new paint.

I showed up at my sons house on Thursday evening to help him put his engine back together after a new cam lost a lobe. Totally dismantled. Had to clean all the internals , polished the crank by hand. Next day air some main bearings cause I had him order the wrong ones .Had only 3 days to get it checked out, put it together get it installed and running. Gave him a taillight warranty and got the heck outta there. Actually it all looked good and sounded good. Got to spend a little time with the new grandson in between. All good. Now on to the road trip to the Smokey Mountains.

I was going to pull my seat for some fresh upholstery but I am blocked in. They are re-siding the storage garage.

Your very talented to be able to do all your own mechanical and auto body work.

Thank you, but I think it might be muscle memory.:D
I was a mechanic and/or shop Foreman for most of my life.
Just switched to computer service 20 or so years ago when I got tired of working on other people's cars and trucks.

Put the finishing touches on my new rug install with some floor mats from factoryinteriors.com....Still hoping to find rubber/vinyl mats instead of the rug material i bought, Still looks great compared
