Spent my first evening of the year in my stand last night. Within an hour had 5 bucks within range. Had to wait for this guy to come in the open. Arrow hit it's Mark at 32 yds and he expired 30 yds later. Not a giant around here, but he's still a dandy.

Nice buck Dartish!!! Definite wall hanger in these parts. First day for me also. Passed on a mature doe. Still meat in the icebox from last year. Temps dropping into the 30's tonight. Back in the stand tomorrow.

Nice deer man thats awesome!! Our opening day is today and I have to work. I probably want get to hunt until muzzleloader anyway. I hate to spend the extra money on archery tags when I only get to go a couple times so I will wait for the rut to hit.

Beautiful buck! Congrats! I gotta wait 5 more weeks before I can hit my stands. Seeing other hunters' success gets me fired up. Crawling outta my skin with anticipation! Even after 50 years of hunting the excitement this time of year never grows old.
