Not sure if this is the correct place to post this.

But I was just wondering, any peeps who have modern Speedos fitted (the type that fit in the new style gauge clusters)

Like this for example

How have you got them wired in? Not the electrical side that's kinda self explanatory, but the mechanical side.
Do they use the original Speedo cable? Or come with one?

Or are they completely different and use their own setup?

My Speedhut speedometer does not use a cable from the transmission but a GPS sensor on top of the dash

As far as I know, there is currently no one producing any aftermarket gauge panels for the long narrow speedo gauge dash, only the 1972 and up style dash.

Forgot about my Dakota Digital speedo - it use the stock speedo cable from the transmission. Instead of going to the speedometer it is modified with a fitting to accept the electronic speed sensor. From the sensor it’s all done electronically to the cluster module and digital speedometer.
