Swapped the stock carb and intake out for a 4 bbl intake and quick fuel vacume secondary carb. I am wondering about the vacume lines they went to the charcoal canister originally with the tank vent and PCV (witch was gone).I'm wondering if I should run the vacume line there or or can I just go from carb to distributor car is a 72 with 318 bone stock except for the carb and intake. Also should I cap off the canister if I dont run the lines to it ?

You should be running a PCV valve. Hook the vacuum advance up to the side of the primary bowl if that carb has a fitting there. If not, you can hook it up to manifold vacuum by using the vacuum port under the front of the carb. It may not like having all that timing at idle if you hook the VA to manifold vacuum.

I have pcv on drivers side to back of the carb

PCV out of the back of the carb, Vacuum advance to the front port above the butterflies. (usually the left side) Power brakes to the rear port on the intake. Damn, I don't know about the charcoal canister. Did it come off a thermal vacuum switch on the intake? Any pictures of the original intake?

I wasn't sure if that carb actually has the ported vacuum port on the metering block. I know it has full vacuum under the front bowl.

For sure if he has ported vacuum he should use that for his VA.

Must be a Holley then. What model?

Carb is a quick fuel slayer 600 cfm it has a timed spark and a vacume advance port under the car as well as one on the metering block witch I am tied into now.
I'm just wondering if I need to bother running the vacume line all the way to the canister or can i just leave it alone

Also when i got the car running it sounds like there is a bag of rocks in the motor as the car was sitting for a few months im wondering if the hydraulic lifter would have leaked down how long would it take for them to pump up when running
