Oil pickup adjustment

I've done it before on a different application by trial and error with a pipe tap on a nut to get it to screw on the thread a bit deeper each time until it cinches down in the correct orientation. This was not an oil pickup on a motor, surprising what you will try in order to get a production line up and running at 2am. I don't think I would try that though in this instance. Sure as hell it's going to loosen up at some point. I think I'd be inclined to get it in the correct orientation and weld a tab on that goes to one of the main cap or windage tray bolts to hold it where it needs to be.


It can be loose and not matter as long as it's not sloppy loose. If the pick up is touching the pan like I said above, it can turn.
